Q: Can you put sour dough starter in this jar to be kept in fridge?
A: Hi M, thanks for your interest Ball 64oz Glass Half Gallon Storage Jar Clear: Dishwasher-Safe, Wide Neck, 6". For optimal results, we recommend using Wide Mouth jars, as they provide the easiest access for adding and removing the starter. It's important not to overtighten the lids, as this can affect the fermentation process. While our jars are designed to be durable, care should be taken to avoid using metal utensils when mixing, as this can potentially weaken the glass and increase the risk of breakage.
