Great game for adults. It has some irreverent content, so beware the little ones. But we had fun for hours with it. There was even a therapist in our midst, and wouldn't you know it - she won the cake.

This humor is NOT family friendly and leans too heavily on very specific (not safe for work) jokes. Got repetitive and not funny. Not a fan and wish I could return.

    Horrific (and Gratuitously Obscene) Therapist

Clearly I'm not the right audience for this game, so I don't fault it so much for being obscenely gross, lurid, unsettlingly explicit and outrageously graphic, as much as I do for what I think was a lack of fair warning about how broadly (and wildly) inappropriate this game is. Other games by this same company are conveniently and clearly enough labeled as NSFW, so whereas the base edition of this game is rated "17 and up," I don't think I was in any way prepared to expect it to be anything other than highly suggestive and thematically "adult," even cringe-worthy; this, I think is clearly how the game is marketed. Lest anyone dismiss this as prudish, I'd like to detail some of what's illustrated on *many* of these cards to give fair warning to consumers (such as genitalia and forced consumption of fecal matter), but I'm frankly concerned my review would get (ironically) flagged. Look: to each their own—I just wish I had gotten any kind of a reasonable head's up about what's actually contained in this game (not just the mild and arguably misleading preview cards shown), so I'm trying to offer as much to someone else. What's a shame is that I think this could have been such a fun game I could have played with family and friends to whom I could in *no way* show this to—and there could have easily been a NSFW expansion for those into that sort of thing. My spouse and I even tried playing through and seeing if we could sort out the NSFW cards and still leave ourselves a more broadly playable edition; it was just too much of the game.

    Extremely repetitive

Fun game, but for the treatment cards, we had SOOOO many repeats. Because we’re petty, we counted every card. There were only 86 unique treatment cards out of 200. Nearly half of the cards had 4 or more duplicates. We were very disappointed in the variety of cards, and ended up running out of treatments while we were getting rid of some duplicates that we had seen too many times. There were 24 single cards, 25 doubles, 19 triples, 12 cards with 4, 5 cards with 5, and one treatment that had 7. While it was a fun game, it got boring and predictable really quickly.

Who needs therapy!? Pretty much everyone these days. And they say the best therapy is laughter. Horrible therapist checks all the boxes and it’s just what the doctor ordered. And it’s a lot cheaper than therapy.

We haven't played yet but took a look through each of the decks. They are hilarious! Definitely excited to play. I know it will play well because it plays like another game we own. I will reiterate that there is adult content so heed the age warning.

You should know your audience before bringing this one to the table. Hilarious comic building game for fans of the Oatmeal and Cards Against Humanity. But it's not for kids. The age restriction on the box is there for a reason. My group had a great time with this one.

Right up top, I have to warn you to heed the age warning on the box. This is NOT a game for kids. It's not a game for a lot of adults, either. But if you have the sense of humor to enjoy the other EK games in their NSFW form, you will love Horrible Therapists. The premise is simple - not unlike the one that forms the basis for a well-known series of games from another company, one person presents the challenge and the others submit their best matching answer. However, this game builds a comic strip with each round, and hilarity ensues. It's an excellent addition to our EK game collection, but will be on the "adults only" shelf.

We have recently purchased this game to help liven up our Saturday nights and let me tell you this.... it definitely does the Job. Not going to lie I wouldn't mind a therapist telling me to do some of these answers and I do NOT recommend drinking when someone is reading them out unless that is you want to give them an early shower. So to sum up YES I highly recommend this game

Horrible Therapist was AMAZZZZZZZING!!! I had way more fun than anticipated. And this is coming from a guy who generally doesn't like NSFW type games. I laughed so much my stomache hurt. We had so many good rounds full of laughter all around. I loved how the "judge" aka therapist in this game actually had a part to play in creating the 3 slide comic. We played 3 full rounds and at the end of the night my friends all asked, "when are we playing this again?" I've never seen my friend group take so fondly, so quickly, to a new game like this one. My only suggestion would be to have your own house rule about increasing the victory points. I had a group of 5 and twice we had someone win 3 before a second round occurred. 3 seemed to few, and we all agreed.

We loved this game! I will be honest -- I did disregard the 17+ rules and had my daughter first play with a group of her friends (aged 15-16). They were literally laughing hysterically playing this game. It was so easy to figure out and the funny combinations they came up with were hysterical. I also played myself with a group of 4 of us and we loved it. I do suggest including adult beverages! I also think the more people the better! This game will definitely come with us when we go on vacation with our friends. Great for game night. Great game to bring to a party with friends (especially if adult beverages are included but are not required!).
