Description
The battle of Gettysburg is the most famous battle of the American Civil War. The battle ended the Confederate's great invasion of the north in the summer of 1863. The Confederate Army of Northern Virginia in July of 1863 was at its zenith, defeating the Union Army of the Patomac just 2 months earlier at Chancellorsville. Lee's army had tasted only success for almost 10 months, and fully expected to win at Gettysburg.The Union Army of the Patomac was fighting on its home soil, with a new commander. Union army strength was down to almost even with the vaunted Confederate forces. Meade, new to command of the army, would face the greatest test of the war. Now you are in command and the decisions are yours...
