Directions

Do not take more than directed. See overdose warning. Adults and children 12 years and over: take 2 caplets at bedtime if needed, or as directed by a doctor. Children under 12 years: do not use.

    Generic brand of Benadryl

    I always struggle to fall/stay asleep. I tried melatonin, but it gives me nightmares.. I sleep well with the 50 mg diphenhydramine target brand, but when I discovered it was the exact same as Benadryl and that you’re not supposed to take it regularly, I’m back to square one

    Can be dangerous

    Maybe not habit forming, but you can develop a dependency. I found this out when my attempts to sleep without it resulted in taking much longer to fall asleep and/or being half awake for an hour or more before finally falling asleep. Google the active ingredient.

    Really works, but need to have enough time for a full nights sleep because it will knock you out. And long term use of this medication leads to weight gain. I had unexplained weight gain and finally determined that long term use of an antihistamine causes weight gain. Be aware!
