  • A: Folgers with the light green label is decaf. They also have a half-caf one.

submitted byGabby - 1 year ago
  • A: You need to select “classic decaf” to get info about the decaf. If you selected “black silk” it does not say decaf and it is not decaf.

Q: Arabica coffee beans?

submitted by jgwm - 4 years ago
  • A: Thanks for your question. Our Colombian Coffee is made of 100% Arabica coffee beans sourced from Colombia.

submitted byFolgersCustomerService - 4 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: NO. According to Folger's, "Classic" is a combination of arabica and robusta. The "classic" beans come from various countries. The OP asked the question on a page for Folgers "Classic" NOT Colombian.

Q: For coffee drinkers with Gastritis, GERD, acid issues etc, has this decaf coffee been alright with your stomach?

submitted by emmy - 8 years ago
  • A: Coffee is coffee and it isn't going to make any difference with your GERD whether you drink regular or decaf it's going to have the same affect on your gut. I suggest just lower the amount you drink.

Q: Is this coffee for a drip coffee maker?

submitted by Omaha grandma - 1 year ago
  • A: Great question! Yes, this coffee is meant to be brewed with a coffee filter.

Q: What process is used to decaffeinate this coffee? Is it organic/water based? Or are chemicals used?

submitted by Sharon - 5 years ago
  • A: Thanks for your question, Sharon. We use ethyl acetate direct process. In the ethyl acetate process, we begin by steaming the beans, which draws the caffeine to the surface; ethyl acetate is then added to the beans to extract the caffeine. After the caffeine is removed, we steam the beans again, and then we’re ready for roasting.

    Exceptional Flavor....!

Absolutely delicious! This coffee has a full-bodied flavor, is smooth and not at all acidic. The aroma is exquisite, and it reminds me of being on my friends coffee farm in Armenia, Colombia. Sometimes I just open the lid so that I can get a whiff of the rich, pleasant aroma of this coffee.....ahhhhh!

    Mismarketing representation

How JM Smuckers thought they could slide in a cheap mixed coffee and call it Colombian is beyond me. That's why they took off the 100% Colombian because they're mixing cheap beans with some kind of filler. There is no aroma when releasing the air lid and right after I drank it I got a headache. JM Smuckers are mixing it with something that is either toxic to us and it is definitely not quality coffee. I will never buy Folgers coffee again I'm 61 and been buying it for 40 years, I'm done. People don't waste your money on this coffee any longer it's absolutely horrible. Whoever thought of the idea of switching it should not have been promoted, they should have been terminated they are going to cost this company in the long run a lot of money.

    Bitter taste of Columbian coffee

The coffee is now very bitter and not the same as before. We have been loyal drinkers of folgers Columbian coffee for many many years. We are now looking for another brand that values their users opinions . The prices have increased substantially and the flavor and taste have plummeted. I would never recommend this Columbian coffee to anyone

    Great taste!

I normally am a self appointed 74 year old coffee snob and never had Folgers coffee until about 3 months ago at my sons house. It took me a half cup of this Columbian roast to learn that I really like it. I’m on my second tub of the Columbian coffee now. I also very recently discovered that I really like the Folgers “Gentle” decaf coffee in the afternoons when I cannot handle caffeine.

    Corporate greed ruining things again

Made from arabica beans does not mean made from 100% arabica beans there's too much robusta beans in this product which makes it taste like trash good job ruining a great brand good job at ruining the flavor that has been tried and true American fan favorite corporate greed has run one more thing in America all to pad the pockets of people that don't drink it straight they drink it creamed up so what do they know about coffee anyway especially when they don't drink their own brand they drink whatever coffee shop brand doused with as much cream and sugar as possible

    Great coffee!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve always loved Folger’s Colombian. It’s bold, rich, and flavorful. We like dark roast and this one does it every time. It’s not super bitter, unless you use too many grounds. I do feel like it’s expensive.

A great coffee for a coffee lover!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love Columbian & am head over heels for the Folgers version! I never have an issue with an upset tummy because of the acid level. It's is the perfect medium coffee. It has a great smooth texture. It's always fresh & so easy to prepare. Can't get enough!

Folgers Black Silk is our favorite coffee. We buy multiple every time we need a restock because we don't want to run out! It's smooth and better than a lot of the more expensive brands. My household prefers a slightly darker roast and this hits all the right notes.
