Broke easily. The scoop does not have a metal rod that goes through the handle. Some slightly hard ice cream caused the entire handle to pop off of the scoop. Disappointing really, because it was good otherwise.

We were so excited to get this ice cream scoop off of our wedding registry, but the very first time we used it it broke. We decided it was still usable even if the swipe bar was off a bit but the second time we used the scoop it broke even further. Extremely disappointed in this product.

Lasts Several Years
I've had 2 of these over the last 10 years, they seem to last about 5 years each before the lever breaks. Love the soft handle. I use them mostly to make meatballs, and haven't replaced it since it broke. I can still get the meatballs out by tapping the scoop forcefully, which is a bit annoying but works.

Can't beat a classic design
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are milkshake people in this family so having a ice cream scoop is a must. This one has a nice grip on the handle unlike some that slip when cold and had a perfect size scoop the last one we had was just a little too big so sometimes would be too much for the mouth of the blender, so having a scoop with a perfect size is a great great plus. Easy to clean and ready in no time for the next round.

Excellent ice cream scoop with great grip!

I recommend running the scoop under hot water before scooping to make the scooping process easier. I have put it through the dishwasher and it holds up just fine.
