Q: will these paints work on rocks?

A: Thank you for asking this colorful question. Crayola Washable Kids' Paint is designed to create masterpieces on paper. You can use this paint to decorate rocks; however, you may find that multiple coats will be needed and we recommend you display your finished work indoors. While we do not manufacture a paint product designed to permanently withstand external elements, Crayola Acrylic Paint may work better for your outdoor project. Hope this helps!

A: Glad you asked! We do not recommend the use of Crayola art materials for intentional direct skin contact. Products designed for face and skin painting require specific testing and approval for this purpose. Although it won’t be the Crayola brand, you may find face/body paint products at your local art or beauty supply stores. Hope this helps!

A: Hi, Leyna. Thanks for asking about Crayola Washable Kids' Paint. At this time, Crayola Dough, Glitter Dots, and Easy Peel Crayon Pencils are manufactured with wheat (flour) as an ingredient and therefore are not considered gluten free. Most other Crayola products, including Silly Putty, do not contain wheat or other grains known to be a source of gluten. Multiple Crayola products are produced in the same manufacturing facilities and on the same machinery. While there is a slight chance of cross-contamination, the machinery used to manufacture Crayola products is cleaned between production runs in a manner that meets or exceeds all regulations. This does not apply to licensed products, such as Crayola-brand bath, personal care, or food items, which are manufactured by licensing partners. Please check the back of the packaging for manufacturer details or contact us with any questions at 1-800-CRAYOLA.

Crayola Washable Paints are a great match for Crayola Model Magic, offering vibrant color and easy cleanup. For Crayola Air-Dry Clay and No-Bake Sculpting Clay, we recommend using Crayola Acrylic Paint for the best results. We don’t suggest painting Crayola Modeling Clay or Crayola Dough, as they aren’t designed for paint application. And while we haven’t tested our paints on other brands’ clays, if you’re feeling creative, we recommend trying a small test piece first to make sure you’re happy with the outcome. Save your money and pass on this
This paint is so thin and watery there is barely any pigment. Probably better to spend more on a different brand so you can actually have a decent project.

Unexpected Headache
Kids had a great time with the paint, I didn’t initially notice too bad of a smell either. Got a headache from the smell about an hour in. Going to think twice before taking this paint out again.

SMELLS TERRIBLE
These paints have a strong, horrible chemical smell. I don't know how on earth they are meant for children. Even outside the smell is strong enough to cause a headache. Don't buy these.

NOT washable and super bad smell
NOT washable and the smell will knock you out. I tried them twice just to be sure and they ruined my children's clothes. Paint will not wash out. And I had to scrape it off our craft table. The smell is super bothersome to me.

Headache inducing odor!
The paints work exactly as you'd expect and it is washable for the most part. However, the smell is ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC! Everyone in the house has a headache after using these paints. The odor lingers on your skin even after washing multiple times. I will only use these outside in the future, and only with paint brushes, not as fingerpaints.

Ktoddler approved, and nostalgic.
My grandma always had these on hand for us when we were kids, and today was the day I introduced these to my toddlers. Granted, what I did was mix a small amount of paint on a dish with shaving cream and made a puffy paint. It made them into very pretty pastel colors. Three year old had a great time painting pretty pictures, but my one year old painter the table as well as herself. Everything and everyone came very clean easily with baby wipes and minimal effort. Next time we will put the picture inside a ziplock bag with paint and aim for a mess free finger painting activity.

Smell is terrible!
I will be returning these. There is a strong floral/baby powder smell. It gave me a terrible headache and we even painted outside. I am sure that these scents are toxic and not he’s for anyone, let alone a child to breathe in.
