MUST READ
This book is absolutely inspiring. I believe everyone should read this, but especially Black folks. Gyasi is a profound writer and creator. Her art of storytelling through Black American culture and memory left me speechless. I will be reading “Transcendent Kingdom” next!

Great read!
Homecoming drew me in the characters and their lives on both sides of the Atlantic from the slave trade to modern day. It is a compelling novel!

Incredibly rich stories and characters
Powerful poignant book. It is a series of short stories. This is not usually my kind of fiction but i understand why the author wrote it that way. Concise but rich. As i read, i felt like i was there with each character, standing behind them observing their life. Deeply moving. Illuminates the impacts of the slave trade in a way that nonfiction couldnt have. Numbers and cold facts just dont have the same effect. This book touched me in the deepest depths of my soul. It should be required reading in every school and for every adult past school age.

Highly recommended
This book is amazing! It follows 2 different families. Each chapter is a new person from the next generation. This book illustrates how slavery influenced the lives of several generations.

Great price made the book easier to purchase for an assignment
Great price on a great book. My high schooler was assigned this book for her Summer assignment. We quickly received the book, and my child whipped through it in a few hours. A book that can hold a high schooler's attention for any length of time is a great book, in my opinion. Book was in great shape, and easy ordering process from start to finish with the free store pickup. Target did not disappoint!
