Description
We doubled the batteries for a longer runtime. With the Worx 40V Cordless 13” String Trimmer, you can get more done before you have to make a pit stop in the shed for more batteries or a recharge. And even with those two big batteries powering this trimmer, it’s still ultra-lightweight and easy to use. Only 6.4 lbs. with both batteries installed (4.7 lbs. bare). So almost anyone can help out with the yardwork and easily operate this grass trimmer without getting fatigued. Maybe best of all is that you don’t have to worry about tripping over a cord, or dealing with messy and pricey gasoline. The cutting diameter of this 40V string trimmer is 13 in., which is wide enough to make nice even passes, but still narrow enough to get in-between trees and shrubs. The size is just right. The line diameter is 0.065 in. and the cutting line length is 16 ft. The adjustable auxiliary handle lets you take on sloped parts of the lawn and get at hard-to-reach areas, as well as providing a comfortable work position when on even land. And you can grab that handle by its side and turn this string trimmer into an edger, too. You’ll have the sharpest lawn on the block, because this trimmer is so easy to operate and lightweight, you’ll trim more often. And that extra maneuverability you gain will lead to cleaner-cut edges on the house, deck, and landscaping features.

The WG183 trimmer is praised for its lightweight design, powerful performance, and ease of use, making it suitable for residential yards. However, some guests have experienced issues with the auto-feed mechanism and battery life. Despite these concerns, many find it a valuable addition to their gardening tools, especially for light to moderate yard work.

Light weight, plenty of power, good long charge. Not crazy about the line feed design.
Great for the more "mature" aka older person.

I have an older WORX trimmer that has worked great for 3 plus years. I accidentally forgot it was leaning against the back of my car and ran over it. I decided to buy a new one and it is the worst WORX trimmer trimmer. I has only has one speed and the batteries run out quickly and trimming is a disgrace. The shaft had disconnected numerous times. The auto feed for string has never worked from the beginning so I have to stop to get more string. The trimmer looks like its old as it has worn so fast. My old one was great and the only thing that wore out was the cover over the trim line. I would not advise buying this.

I have had many work's trimmers that I would give a 5 star review to but my reason for a lower review on this one is that the handle is just too long for a short woman. I would prefer a trimmer with an adjustable handle.

Huge upgrade over the first generation 20V version. My son burnt the motor out on some tall weeds. The weeds were no match for this 40V trimmer!

Disclaimer: I love Worx tool products. I have many interchangeable products and have found them to be excellent in design and wear. The trimmer however is a different story. I purchased this recently to use around my home for bigger spaces that my smaller trimmer. I've read several reviews that had an issue with the line feeder and it had to do with the way the spools were wound with the spool that came with the new unit. I started using the trimmer as soon as it was delivered and found it to be lighter and easier to use than I expected. However, when it came time to increase the line I never was able to get it to extend. I had to stop and pull on the string in order for it to be able to do the job as expected. Today after getting tired of starting and stopping, I took the spool out and stripped all the line from it and replaced the upper and lower parts of the spool with new string. I followed the directions carefully and made sure the line didn't overlap in the winding. I reinstalled the spool and started trimming again only to have the same problem continue with the new windings. After a longer period of time than I usually give to products with bad design I ripped out the spool and tossed it in the garbage. Whoever designed this particular line feeding mechanism didn't hit it out of the ballpark like most of Worx tools. Please do not let the review prevent you from purchasing other Worx products because you won't be disappointed but this one you can pass by.

Just used for the first time today. The double string and two batteries make for faster cutting time. I liked my older curved handle worx trimmer but i love the straight handle of this one. At 6 feet tall it fits my height better. It offers a lighter feel with a longer easy reach!!!

I purchased a powershare worx trimmer. I previously had one. It was great. The new one stinks. It is not adjust at the head. I have to stop and pull string as automatic feeder does not work. Can't adjust speed. Runs batteries out fast. Has come apart numerous times at the connection where pole connects. Perfect for a lawsuit. Would not recommend buying.

I have a WG184 and wanted a trimmer with 2 feed lines. The WG183 is lightweight and cutting speed is much faster than the WG184. This trimmer is more useful on my residential 1/4 acre lot. The only issue is, like others have mentioned, the line spool that came with it was not wound correctly and the auto feed didnt work. I had to unwind it, cut off the section that melted from heat and rewind it. No big deal. It's also shorter than the WG184, so I have to bend over to cut some areas. I'm 5 ft 11" tall. Overall the WG183 was a great addition to the WG184 that uses .080 line for heavier jobs.

I purchased this unit to replace a very old worx 18v weed trimer I have had for years, well let's list the problems in order 1.st - shaft is not adjustable so you are stuck with the overall length and handle placement. 2nd - the auto feed button is a joke, it feeds when it want's to or just doesn't feed at all. 3rd - the unit is back end heavy so you are constantly fighting to keep the trimmer head down and cutting. 4th - the detachable wheels are re-designed and they sit taller than the old unit did so by sitting higher when you go to use as an edger you have to make several passes to make a clean cut because the string needs to be fully extended or you will miss large sections where the string was barely making contact so you have to go back over it again. 5.th - over all the unit is not worth the price and the extra time it will take you to go back over the same area two and three times which then cut's into the battery life , you would think two 20v batteries would handle an average city lot but NO ! the only thing I am certain of is I wish I had never purchased this unit, Do your self a favor and look at something else this is not the one you want.

Not a big fan of anything electric over gas, but this thing makes a case for a change of mind. Super light weight and very powerful. Self feeds. Easy to assemble. Charges fast. I'd say just short of a 25cc gas model in comparison. Can easily tackle anything in a common yard. Great investment. Love this machine more than I could have expected.

Keeps braking the string in little pieces

Does anyone knows the reason why this trimmer suddenly after a year started cutting the line in little pieces every time I turn it off then on. I used 2 reels and it only worked once I turned it on, the next time started making a huge noise and the line unreeled so much that I had to open the compartment and reeled it in. Then it just keep cutting until there is no more line. I inspected and see nothing off but the automatic line button never worked. Can someone helped. I cannot keep buying trimmers every other year. This is my second.
