Q: Can you just play original scrabble with this?

A: You can, but it isn't the standard Scrabble board - it is a modified Scrabble board- the center section of the board is laid out much like a traditional Scrabble board, but with some Monopoly properties added. You can ignore those if you want, or imagine them all to be "Double Word Score" spaces.
