A: Evaporative, there is no low, medium or high setting for the water, so you can’t control the flow. I guess if you use tap water it’s not a big deal. However, I only use distilled water because I don’t want to deal with cleaning the machine often and I don’t want to deal with the white dust tapwater leaves. So unfortunately, this gets very expensive for me with this type of humidifier. Therefore, I returned it for one where I can control the flow and not waste so much distilled water I have to purchase.

A: Hello, thanks for your question. This humifier is evaporative. One thing to note about evaporative humidifiers is that you will not see mist or steam coming from the humidifier, but that is normal and how it should operate.

A: Yes, you can use clean tap water in this product!

A: This unit has 3 types of filters. The HEPA Filter & Pre-filter are found at the bottom of the unit. The HEPA filter needs to be replaced ever 6 months of use time, and the Pre-filter needs to be replaced every 3 months of use time. This unit also has a PermaWick, found at the top of the unit, which can be cleaned. Replacements are available if your PermaWick is ever damaged.

A: While on the automatic setting, the unit’s running speed will be based on the room’s humidity. The HPH625 will try to get the room’s humidity between 41-69% and adjust accordingly. It does not have an air quality sensing system for just the air purifier portion of the unit.
