Sharpens well, but the shavings bin not stable.
Purchased for home use- mostly for young kids in school. Sharpener mechanism itself works well and sharpens fast. My criticism is that the shavings reservoir below does not snap in, you just push it in and it looks secure. But then, the vibration of the sharpening makes it slide out, then it turns off (probably a safety feature that turns it off, which is fine) but it should be designed to have a way to secure it then release it to empty. I might return it because it's annoying to have to push the bin in with one hand while you sharpen, and difficult for the younger kids with little hands to hold all that.

Could be way better
SUPER loud and doesn’t sharpen the pencils correctly. The sharpener also stops completely if the base separates from the pencil shavings basket which doesn’t happen often but definitely enough to be annoying, its like the vibrations from the sharpener make them separate from each other. I liked that it has multiple slots for different sized pencils but thats about it.

Broke within months
Purchased this pencil sharpener last year. Broke within months. Does not stand up to elementary classroom use. Also the shavings bin pops out too easily which makes it hard for the children to sharpen their pencils without adult support.

The pencil sharpeners has a safety feature that keeps the motor from running if the shavings receptacle is not in place. There is a peg on the receptacle that engages the motor; if that peg is damaged the motor will not work. This is the worst pencil sharpener I ever purchased. It literally ate every brand new pencil and broke them down with no point. I had to return it. I will never buy this product again!

Wonderful pencil sharpener!
This pencil sharpener sharpens pencils very fast and precise! This is an excellent sharpener to have in a classroom for high volume pencil sharpening! The blue line helps students identify which hole to put the pencil into. Although the pencil shavings reservoir does not stay in place while sharpening, one small piece of tape on each side holds it in place perfectly. I'm buying my second SchoolPro sharpener today!

The sharpener works fine IF the pencil shavings reservoir stayed in place. It slips out easily when using it, which turns off the sharpener. VERY FRUSTRATING

Heavy Duty Pencil Sharpener
I have used this sharpener in my art classroom this year. There are a couple of quirky things about it; however, it is still going strong. You have to make sure to empty the shavings catcher before it goes above halfway. Otherwise, the shavings collect around the blade. Also, you have to make sure the container is pushed all of the way in otherwise it will stop working. I have had to take it apart a couple of times to unclog the blade which was a bit of an ordeal. However, it continued to work just fine. I use it multiple times every day and it has withstood heavy use from middle and high school students.

It’s easy to use, has a nice sized waste bin so it doesn’t fill to fast. Love the fact that it has different openings to fit just about any sized pencil you use. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great pencil sharpener. It is on the larger size so it takes up more room than other pencil sharpeners. The feature I live the best is that there are 6 different size holes for different types of pencils. 3 young holes (small, medium and large) and 3 triangle holes (small, medium and large). The large ring hole is great for larger pencils that kindergartener's use when learning how to hold a pencil correctly. I dont have any triangle pencils to try this holes out but the pencils that I did try I got a nice even point and the point didn't break right after sharpening.

Does it’s job

The shape er itself is great it does its job. The size is a bit larger than I thought and it’s not very quiet! I will be donating this to my moms class room and getting one that’s a little less bulky for home. If you are looking to sharpen bulk and or for a classroom this is perfect!
