A:Â I'll answer this again because its such a fail. If you place it on your nightstand, you need to face the clock away from you to see the projection in the correct orientation. If I am incorrect, please feel free to correct me.
submitted byWSilver - 3 years agoA:Â This is SO weak. If you are buying for the projection, don't bother. Its backwards. That is useless to me. This complaint is echoed numerous times. I can get the projection to be normal if I face the clock face away from me. But then I can see the clock face. Unless there is a way to switch the orientation of the projected time, which I haven't seen after a couple of hours of searching the web, you are adding ZERO value. My humble recommendation is do not buy this if you need the projection feature to be operationally useful.

When laying in bed, the projection will display the time correctly either directly above you or across the room if the projection arm is tilted. I only paid 25 bucks or so, I’ll just buy a quality alarm clock with dim button!! Btw y’all, this sharp brand is not related to the renown Sharp brand we’re all familiar with. Also, quick fix for the bright none-dimmable light; just put a piece of cloth or washcloth on the clock face… the projection still works fine.

Q: Can anyone tell me about how big the projection itself is? I'm trying to find a way to project a LARGE time on the wall for exams....hoping the projection is a lot bigger than the screen itself.

A:Â Yes, the projection is larger than the clock display. The farther away the surface you project on to, the larger the letters will appear. Please note, this works best in a dark or very dimly lit room.

A:Â Thank you for your post. The battery back is optional. You don't need to use it if you do not wish to. The back up battery will hold the time and alarm settings while the power is interrupted; when the power is restored, the display will be re-lit. Please note that the display will remain dark until the power is restored.

Way too bright! Lights up my whole bedroom at night and no way to dim it. The projection works great and I love that feature but can't deal with the brightness. Not worth $25 bucks. Taking it back.

Its been months since I last shopped at Target, due to the terrible experice i had the last time i was in the store. Decided to give it another try, and once again, I'm disappointed! When i took the clock out of box i noticed there was no plastic attached to the screen to protect it, PLUS there were fingerprints all over the screen. I go to plug it in and the display looks green and nothing like the picture on the box.

Hard to see and weak projector

I bought 2 of these to put in classrooms for AP testing so all students could see the clock. It was a complete waste of money. You can only see the display if you're sitting very close to the clock, and the projector feature only works if the surface you're projecting onto is like a foot away. It also has to be VERY dark in the room to see the projected time.

The display is dim to invisible except at a very small angle. The projector is even dimmer - so dim I couldn't evaluate the sharpness of display unless in full darkness.

So bright that it looks like a nightlight or lamp. Can not dim display, how dumb is that?! Projection is strange. Have to maneuver just right to get it to display in right direction on ceiling. All in all not a very flexible clock. Looks nice though. Haven’t used alarm or usb charger.

The display on the screen is terrible. Very hard to read unless standing right in front of it. The projector is completely worthless.

Please keep in mind, this is a desktop alarm clock, so it is best viewed from a sitting position with the clock only a few feet away. If you want a clock you can see from across the room, please look in to a wall clock instead.

Why on earth would anyone design a clock with a projector meant to display the time on a wall or ceiling in the dark, yet have no way to dim the front display, which lights up the room brightly enough to interfere with sleep. It's like Buddy the Elf's father designed it... "It won't dim? Who cares, ship it anyway! The idiots won't notice!" Ridiculous. Returned.

Hi Mark, thank you for your feedback. You actually can dim the front display of the clock by using the button that says "dimmer" on it. If you did not notice the button, it is also explained in the instruction manual how to dim the front display. Sad to hear you returned the clock before you noticed this feature.

does anyone know if the display can be dimmed? I was given this as a gift, and when I went to use it, the display kept me up. it's just too bright for my liking, and I was wondering if there was a way to dim it.

I like that this alarm clock has the time projector. I don’t like that it only projectors the number the correct way on the ceiling if it is at your bedside. What I hate about is that the projector exactly 8 months, for the price I expected this to full work for at least a year. I will not be buying a second one.

This is the third clock I have purchased. I really like the clock and I'm hoping this one continues to work. The first clock I purchased the wall display stopped working. The second clock I purchased the date/time button did not work. So hopefully the third times a charm.

This clock appears really cheap. I returned it the next day. The reflection appeared backwards on the ceiling and there was no way to correct it. I liked the date and day feature. I didn’t like if you didn’t set the alarm, you could not make the numbers 12:00 go away or I should say turn them off.

Thank you for your feedback. The projection on this model is primarily intended to be used at night. If you would like a clock with a projection visible during the day, you would want to invest in a projection clock with a true laser projector.

The projected time is upside down, and the alarm is very low without the option to adjust the volume. Also, if the clock is unplugged it is not set by satellite so you will have to reset it all over again. Pretty

Thank you for your feedback. We would like to clarify a few things. This is not an atomic clock, nor is it advertised as one, so it is never meant to be set via satellite. It does however have a battery backup, which is specifically intended to preserve the clock settings in the event of a power outage (by either unplugging the clock or due to blackout). Also, the projection time is intentionally oriented so that it can be easily read from a laying-down position when the clock face is not visible.
