A: I can't believe they didn't have the mixing instructions on the package! How is that acceptable?

A: The target employee that answered 8 fluid Oz should get a promotion or a reward. The product does not say anywhere how much water. Some people may say it is intuitively 1 packet per cup, but having it specifically called out by fluid Ounces makes much more sense. Someone shound put that on the product box amd on each packet. Here is a follow up question: Is it the same for an adult than for a toddler?

A: Hello - That's a great question! 8 fluid ounces (240 ml)... If using tap water, BOIL the water vigorously and let it cool down prior to flushing. Do not use tap water that has not been boiled since there would be danger of sinus infection... hope this helps! - Amber

A: Distilled water is sterile, but you can also use tap water as long as you boil it first and let it sit to cool back down to room temperature. I don't know about the Navage machine.

A: The new navage requires you to purchase their salt pods, but it's easy to get around that. You can premix these packets in a gallon of distilled water and then Just use that instead of using the navage salt pods. There are you rube videos on how to work around using the pods but the easiest way is to save a used salt pod, then press the little white button before fully closing the lid.

A: I use salt and baking soda and also a product called alkalol. I make a gallon at a time in a one gallon bottle of distilled water and it will keep as long as a bottle of distilled water lasts, I would say only throw it out if it looks or smells off, otherwise you should be fine.

A: It depends ENTIRELY on how clean you are in preparing it. IF you use sterile water, sterile container, and sterile procedure, probably a week would be OK. At that rate a box would last about two years. But for most folks probably one should not use it more than a day or two. Making saline this way it's not that expensive. On the other hand, the chances of "catching something" that way are minuscule (if "only" reasonably clean) compared to merely putting your un-sanitized fingers in your eyes, nose, or mouth, or on your food (how 99%+ of sickness occurs). The packets are 9 cents each. Renewing daily would be about $30/yr and most safe, though a bit of trouble. It's a matter of judgement and compromise.

Boiled water should be used in the proper clean plastic squeeze bottle such as available with the brand name product. The bottle should be replaced every 3 months. ...Also could be used with brand name Neti Pot flushing. ...I much prefer the squeeze bottle method of flushing.
