Q: Is this detergent septic safe?

A: All Tide products have been thoroughly evaluated to use in homes with septic tanks. As long as you follow the recommended amounts as directed, they do not damage the septic system (including aerated systems) or plumbing systems with a properly functioning septic tank.

As well, we increased the amount of plant-based content from 65% to 75% in October 2018, and the new formula could look cloudy and/or thicker for awhile if the product got very cold. A: Hello DC. Very good Question. Our Tide purclean™, while a plant-based detergent does have fragrance and is not tested to be hypoallergenic. For your littlest one's laundry the gentlest option is to use a laundry detergent that is gentle but will still keep your baby’s clothes brilliantly clean. Tide Free & Gentle is free from dyes and perfumes, which is perfect to use for a baby’s sensitive skin. A: That's a great question. The amount you'll use in your HE machine will vary depending on the size of your load. Always follow the dosing instructions on the bottle of purclean™. Q: Does this really contain lavender, or is it in name only? We need to know because according to our child’s endocrinologist we can’t use lavender since it can cause children to go into early puberty.

Here’s the thing - if you’re going to switch to ANY natural/plant based/clean/eco detergent, you’re going to be sacrificing a lot of the harsh chemicals and perfumes you’re used to washing your clothes with. If you NEED a heavy perfume to your clothes, don’t make the switch. I have been using this to wash our bed linens for years and I think it smells wonderful, much better than Seventh Generation and all its main competitors - and I feel better about my family sleeping on bedding washed in this than any of the other major brands. The thing is, you’re going to have to put a little more work in with a cleaner product. Buy a giant bag of baking soda and add a cup of it to the drum before every load. This isn’t because the detergent doesn’t work — it’s because washers get smelly and it’s not a detergent’s job to cover that up! You can also add vinegar to the fabric softner dispenser for an extra boost, or I personally use it in combo with target’s Ever Spring Lavender liquid concentrate softener. If you don’t care so much about the chemicals and you just want lavender, use it in combo with Downy lavender fabric softners, it WILL smell amazing. I’m a boy mom with 2 large dogs so smells are a PROBLEM here. If I can beat it anyone can!

This is the only Detergent that I have found that does not give hives to my sensitive families skin. I absolutely love the smell, and actually think sometimes the lavender is lighter than I would want, but it's probably the honey 🍯. Target is the only place I can find it, so please don't ever stop stocking this.

I’m having trouble with the amount of bubbles I’m ending up with at the end of a cycle. I fill it to line one and at the end of the cycle there are bubbles all over the door and seal…I probably won’t buy this again.

My go-to! I workout daily & I love that I can trust my name brand clothes to Tide. Athleisure/workout clothes can be an investment so I want a detergent that's going to help protect the integrity of the material by keeping them smelling fresh without dyes. The lavender honey fragrance is light enough that I don't really smell it on my clothes after they are dried.

Did they change the formula? I noticed that the liquid detergent was getting “creamy whiteish” and my clothes started smelling weird and when i pretreated a stain which I poured on my light blue jeans and put it in washer right away it left a bleach stain so now my pants are ruined. I wont be buying this anymore.

My favorite laundry detergent! It does have a slight melon sent like other reviewer's mentioned. I think it smells amazing. Ingredients are a little cleaner than original. Cleans clothes effectively, would love for tied to make different scents in the pure clean line.

I would probably buy this again, but in the un-scented option. I have a heightened sense of smell, likely because I’m severely hearing and vision-impaired. I enjoy strong scents on my laundry. With this, my laundry smells nice after washing and drying, but after a few days, my clothing has an odor that resembles insect repellent! To my nose, I can’t smell anything else but bug spray with this! I don’t like to waste things, so I’ll likely use the remaining amount to wash items that don’t absorb fragrances as much. I still gave it 4 stars because it’s a good product that I believe just needs some adjustment.

Decided to try it as it was on sale. Even on sale for the size and price, it probably wasnt worth the cost. I also expected to clean better, but it's comparable to other pure clean style brands that are at a lower price point

My go to detergent! I like that it’s clear and doesn’t have the blue or green dyes that most detergents have in them, I think that helps my clothes stay brighter longer. I know some people dislike the smell but I think it smells good. Also, a little bit goes a long way so it lasts me a while.

Bought this when it went on sale to try. We like the scent, it’s pretty mild. Does not smell like lavender but more a honey floral. Not a strong scent. Tried it with our baby’s laundry & has been gentle enough for her skin.
