A: Yes, the 8" skillet can be used on a induction stove top. Pick up do not slide and always start on low heat and slowly work up temperature.

A: Wash the skillet with hot water, cleaning with a nylon bristle brush or non-scratch pad, rinse with hot water, hand-dry immediately, and rub the surface with cooking oil. Now the pan is ready to be used or stored.

A: @FirstTimeMom - Yes, Lodge does an initial seasoning before packing. All you need to do before use is rinse with warm water, hand dry, and rub with cooking oil. After that it is ready to start cooking! Thanks, Lodge Customer Care

I’ve been a long time customer of Lodge and enjoy and appreciate their product offerings and the quality. If you take good care of them (each product includes care instructions) they will outlive you and serve as heirlooms to your great grandkids. Great piece of equipment. The handle cover tends to build up moisture easily, so make sure you remove that after cooking. I pretty much just use cloth instead. The more I use it, the better it gets, but I can’t imagine liking the maintenance that goes into a larger skillet.

Nice but heavy!
The size is perfect, just what I wanted. I grew up learning to cook with cast iron pans, especially the chicken fiy pan, breakfast fry pan and the Dutch Oven. These are excellent pans for camping as well! Lodge is a respected Brand for preseasoned cast iron cookware. Caution if you have arthritis you may find this kind of cookware too difficult to manage because of its weight!
