Q: These are supposed to be stand-to-fill. How does one get these to stand up?

A: These bags do stand up but they are a bit fiddly to expand the bottom. I’ve found the best way for me is to insert my hand inside the bag and then spread my fingers to push the sides apart and expand the flat bottom.

Q: These Chinese-made bags are advertised by Target as Phthalate, BPA & PVC free but the recycling code on them is # 7 thus the plastic contains all three. Why is there a # 7 recycle code on these bags if they do not contain Phthalates, BPA & PVC? Thank You

A: Hello An - You've asked a great question. This product is made of multiple materials - PET - OPP – PE – and because it is a mix – we need to label it as 7. Our Owned Brand products go through very stringent testing – and in order to place a CLAIM on the packaging that there is not BPS, Phthalates, or PVC you need to subject the product for analytical analysis to validate that. Also – resin code 7 does not right away indicates that there are present bad materials in the product - if that was the case – product would not be allowed to be on the market. - Mechelle

This could be an unfair review because I’ve only used a couple of bags once. Purchased to reduce my use of regular sandwich bags for daily snacks at work (berries or muffins) but I would’ve been better off reusing freezer bags or purchasing the silicon ones. Possibly even the stand-and-fill bags. The bag is stiff compared to the first 2 options which partially makes sense since it’s meant to be reusable plastic, but the side seams and divot at the bottom seem to reduce how much the bag holds. For instance, I could fit several spoons and forks into sandwich bags and seal the bag but I can’t do that with these. I can’t imagine putting these in the dishwasher so I hand washed but the inside sticks together and doesn’t completely dry. It doesn’t seem like the bag turns inside out easily. All in all, I’ll continue to use these until they need to be trashed but there’s better solutions out there

I don’t know what all the bad reviews are for - these are great! The little fold in the bottom unfolds so they stand up for filling, they seal great, and easy to use in the dishwasher (or hand wash) with the drain holes for the bottom. I will be using them all the time for travel, snacks and lunches, and I love that they’re reusable and no BPA!

Good idea, but glad I didn’t get 2 boxes. It was hard to seal, but i managed it. I used them for about a month here and there, but the zipper or the seal, eventually came off, so I couldn’t seal anymore. Two are gone, and I can see the rest are probably going soon… I wanted to get it again but for this reason, I won’t be…

To start with, these sandwich bags do not reseal. I tried numerous times. Second, you really can't get them clean in dishwasher -- you can't open it enough and then it gets wet and not dry. You also cannot hand wash because you can't turn them inside out like a regular sandwich bag. There is literally nothing good about this product. Do not buy it.

I love using these as my son’s snack bags. He takes a snack to school everyday and I can fit anything from Smart pop to granola bars to apples in them. Bonus if he loses one I can replace them easily. One box has lasted me a full year

Love these bags. As a teacher, I take my lunch almost every day and I was wasting so many Ziploc bags I felt guilty for the environment. Why do they have a folded bottom of they don't pop open? They say they stand to fill, but they barely even open, and the bottom is completely flat, except it's got a flap inside that serves no purpose except to trap grime.

My children use these everyday for snack at school and they've held up hand washing daily and the occasional being tossed into the dishwasher. But they do best when washed by hand. We bought them twice now but only because they keep losing them.

These are actually very stiff so you have limited options of what to put in it. A standard sandwich does not fit inside without being smushed. However, I use it for berries, and other small snacks.
