Sturdy rod set some assembly require

I decide to get this rod set for my bedroom. The rod diameter is 1" so it feels sturdy for heavy blackout drapes. The rod assembly is a bit tricky though. Out of the box, one of the finials is connected to the smaller rod. There are 3 rod pieces (2 large rods, 1 small rod). The small rod is intended to go in the middle - between the 2 larger rods. So you will have to unscrew the finial from the small rod first and screw it onto the large rod without the finial. Once the finial is removed from the small rod you can slide the small rod between the 2 larger rod. Admittedly I have to call for assistance because I couldn't connect the 3 rods together right out of the box.
