Umami rice is the best
I've had this top of line rice cooker for a couple years now, and it make rice cooking a joy. My favorite setting is umami and the rice comes out pearlescent, dewey and perfectly soft. The cooker also looks like piece of art.

From Best to Best
I bought this rice cooker to reward myself for a new job. I had a Zojirushi that was about 10 years old. The old one worked perfectly fine but I had bought a Zojirushi NL-GAQ10 for a second home and was so impressed with the new Premium setting that I just had to get one to have at our main home. Sure enough, I've already used the NW-JEC10 twice in two weeks and the rice is flawless and delicious. I tried the default White/Normal setting the first time and the White/Softer setting the second time. Next time I will probably go for the White/Softest setting, which I think will be closest to the Premium setting on the NL-GAQ10. Looking forward to many more batches ahead with this beautiful and perfect NW-JEC10!

A great piece of equipment
I have never been good with rice. I grew up in a home with no rice tradition. I now cook more rice and grains and cook Asian and middle eastern dishes. My rice has been a weak link. Now, I just do what the cooker tells me to do and my rice is fantastic. My rice is now the star of the dish. It also does killer steel cut oats. This is a luxury item at a luxury price but I have no regrets.

Bought it as a Christmas gift for my partner, but it’s really a gift for both of us. We’ve made all kinds of rice, rice and beans, rice and rolled barley, and it always comes out perfect. I hope it lasts us years.

After one year
I’d not recommend this rice cooker to anyone. There’s a major design flaw, the rice is also not extraordinary for the price you paid. After each use, the cleaning is not straight forward.

Wait.... Rice can be cooked different and be amazing? Here I was, living my life, eating and cooking rice and then BAM! Here comes this... Hmmmm let's try a different rice cooker and see what all the fuss is about. Good Lord!! We do have another Zojirushi Cooker and it's been amazing, I actually didn't think it could get any better than that! Well smack me in the mouth with a salmon skin.... This is an amazing journey of Rice Heaven. I could die happy right now but then I wouldn't be able to eat more rice. Love!

Perfect Rice, Every Day
My family and I love this rice cooker. We have been using a smaller 3 cup Zojirushi Micom rice maker for years, and loved it, but 3 cups for six people is routinely not enough rice, so we upgraded. The JEC10 continues to make perfect rice every time, and it has many more kinds of rice it can make perfectly!

Huge upgrade over previous Neuro fuzzy
This is my second machine, I had a Neurofuzzy previously, and this is a huge upgrade. Jasmine rice is perfect, Japanese rice is perfect. I have mixed dashi powder, ginger, and scallions for great mixed rice. The reason I upgraded was support for long grain rice and steel cut oats. I make steel cut oats ever morning. I use the water amount from the package vs the bowl marking because I like them softer. The gaba rice is very nice I schedule it for dinner so the long cook time does not bother me.

Rice cooking as an art
I was one of those that believed that rice cookers did not matter when cooking rice. I decided to put this to the test by cooking the same Koshi-Hikari rice from an Aroma rice cooker and this product. I then placed both in a bowl and had my folks whom I considered "the elders" of rice expertise make a comparison. I did not tell them that one of the bowls were from Zojirushi rice cooker beforehand. They immediately commented on how the rice from the Zojirushi was more pearlescent, a softer texture and the rice being fluffier.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) improved the texture of each grain of rice. Have moved from seaside to high dessert, it was hard to get the texture of rice just right. Cooking rice 4-5 times a week, this has greatly improved my enjoyment of rice, after our move.

Another Great One
Another great unit, I have had many, never cause one failed. Just wanted to get new features. This gets more use than any other appliance I have. Breakfast bowls, rice, quinoa, can do it all, and GABA was the feature that made me buy the first one. Been making so many different varieties: Forbidden (black), Red (Thai), Brown Basmati, Short grain brown, Oats, Faro, Rye berries.
