For our experience, with combo feeding, my baby took this one the best. She tried both Bobbie and Byheart and both she spit up so much and seemed agitated after a feed. This seemed to be the best fit and met the quality I was looking for.

A miracle for a breastfed baby
I’m not want to usually take the time to write reviews. As a mom who is on baby number two, and has had issues with her supply both times, and had to bring in formula with both babies, choosing the right one and feeling good about it is a big deal. I was super upset (and still am) when my supply failed me again and I frantically looked to the internet for the best option for a breastfed baby as they are typically going to be pickier about formula. With my first baby, I landed on Bubs A2 Supreme after a bad match with Baby’s Only and we liked the Bubs for the most part because of its quality. That and milk without A1 protein is naturally going to be more digestible because us humans only produce A2 protein. A1 protein is from cows. ANYHOW, Bubs A2 is not a thing anymore, and you know what? It’s fine because I’m a Kendamil convert 100%. I’m so glad baby #2 tolerates *normal* (non-A2 or gentle) formula. She cried and screamed her head off with all of the formulas we tried including Bubs until we started on this one- Kendamil Classic. She almost instantly took to this one and it was a sheer miracle. The quality is unmatched. Love the whole milk. EU standards don’t allow weird corn syrup solids. No palm oil- easier on digestion and better for the planet. The addition of HMOs (human milk oligosaccharides) and MFGM (milk fat globule membrane) are two components that actually make it closer to breastmilk. It doesn’t have the weird smell or taste of many other formulas. Very mild in comparison. My daughter has no gas or excessive spitting up or anything like that. If you have a breastfed baby and are looking for something a picky BF baby would tolerate- it’s this one. If you’re EFF and looking for your main squeeze- I recommend this one. Reach for this beautiful pink can of awesomeness. You most likely won’t regret it.

Good adition to breastmilk
We had to start supplementing with formula at 3 weeks. It doesn’t smell like some other formulas I’ve seen and looks similar to breast milk (unlike the formula we got at our lactation visit 🤢). Tastes like sweet milk 😅. Baby never had gas issues other than what’s normal for small babies. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good quality formula. We tried the organic and goat version and it made no difference whatsoever, so we stuck with the cheapest one. Baby went from 6th percentile to 70+ so it did the job.

Hi Shila, we're sorry to hear Kendamil wasn't a match for your little one. With the presence of whole milk, no palm oil, and no fish oil Kendamil works for a lot of babies. I understand every feeding journey is different and there are many other factors to take into consideration. We wish you the very best with your continued feeding journey.

Thank you for reaching out to us and happy to clarify this one for you. Alongside the natural milk fat from our whole milk, we use a blend of infant-grade coconut, sunflower and rapeseed oil for our fat content. These oils are necessary to provide essential fatty acids (such as linoleic and alpha-linolenic acid) which are present in human milk and are the precursors for your baby to make long chain polyunsaturated fats like DHA which are necessary for both brain and visual development in your little one. We can’t rely exclusively on our whole cow’s milk fats as these fatty acids are not present in sufficient quantities. The only other suitable source of these polyunsaturated fatty acids is soya oil which is an allergen and has a detrimental effect on the taste. You can rest assured that our oils are are sourced specifically to be infant grade and therefore suitable and safe for consumption. Currently Avocado oil is not approved for use in infant formula and we are unable to use solely coconut or olive oil as these do not have adequate levels of either linoleic acid or alpha linolenic acid (fatty acids are essential for the proper growth and development of infants) and as such the levels required are mandated in legislation. In addition to this our formulas are vegetarian certified so the use of animal fats is not something we wish to do. We do therefore need to add other oils but you can rest assured that the amount added is only sufficient to meet this requirement. Hope this helps!

I wanted so badly to use this formula but my son does not like the taste. He would repeatedly spit the bottle and formula out. It has better ingredients than others but it’s not for us.

This formula has been a game changer. We did Enfamil with our singleton and didn't really have any issues with the brand but wanted to find something comparable, healthier, and somewhat cheaper for our twins. They have not shown any issues with digestion with this formula. We did try the goat milk version once, and they surprisingly had major gas/colic issues from that.

Thank you so much for the 5 star review Rachel, I am so glad Kendamil has been a game changer for your twins and that digestion has been smooth. We love hearing that you found something comparable to what worked before, with the cleaner recipe and good value you were looking for. On the goat trial: our goat formula uses naturally A2 casein and whole-milk fats, which some little ones find gentle—but a quick switch can sometimes lead to gas or colic. If you ever want to revisit it, a gradual 7–14 day transition, slightly smaller/frequent feeds, and extra burp breaks can help. That said, if Classic is working beautifully, there’s no need to change.

Best for my baby
I’ve researched MANY brands and came to try this one. My baby has loved it! As a first time mother, I wanted to use the best of the best. He’s been eating this since we got home, and has had zero issues. He was also a premie, so I was extra nervous about what formula to use!! I will use this for all future kiddos!

Didn't work for us
Every baby is different. I really wanted this to work out, but unfortunately our 1 month old didn’t tolerate this formula very well. ): Not sure what ingredient(s) could have set him off, but tried it out for a few weeks and found it gave him horrible reflux and gas issues. He started arching his back like crazy during and between feeds, was spitting up constantly, crying a lot in discomfort and becoming way fussier, severely interrupting his sleep, coughing/choking, struggling to burp, and at times spitting up so so bad it would shoot out through his nostrils. I am using formula to combo feed, whenever I am not producing enough breast milk. So after a few weeks of using this formula and witnessing the gradual yet quick progression of negative symptoms, I had a few days where I was able to give him strictly breast milk and his symptoms cleared right up! Which confirmed for us we needed to switch. With the recommendation of our pediatrician, we switched over to Enfamil’s gentlease and it’s a night and day difference. It’s like we have a brand new baby. He’s been a LOT calmer and hardly spits up. His reflux and gas issues diminished. Also, I noticed Kendamil’s formula leaves a greasy, filmy residue on whatever surfaces it touches and it didn’t mix well, I’d always struggle with a few small clumps left behind. The residue made me feel like it would stick to his throat and cause more irritation. With Efamil, it is much easier to mix and doesn’t leave any residue. So yeah, this was our experience with kendamil. didn’t work for us. Maybe it will work for you. Side note: Kendamil’s formula tastes very similar to breast milk, and I know our little one enjoyed the flavor. That’s the only positive I have to share

Not working for my baby
a lot of people loves this milk because of the clean ingredients but it does not work for my baby, he constantly in gas pain, vomiting. I did not suspect the milk is the cause at first but as soon as i switched my baby to different formula, he does so much better.

My new baby spit up so much drinking breast milk so it was such a game changer when we switched him to this formula. I had used this previously with my first son and it worked great for him as well.

I pump exclusively, but baby wasn’t gaining much weight so we decided to combo feed. At first it was making him fussy and gassy. I waited the two weeks to give it a good try. Eventually he got used to it and it works well. He still spits up but babies are supposed. And he uses the bathroom regularly with it.

Spit up smells vulgar
There was so much hype online about this formula so I decided to try it. My baby likes it. The only problem is, when he spits up, it smells like poop. It’s the worst spit up smell I’ve experienced, and we have tried many other formulas. We will no longer be using this product. If your baby never spits up, it’s probably fine.
1 reply from Kendamil USA team - 2 months ago
Hi Rhandle, thank you for your review. Thanks for giving Classic a try, and I’m sorry the spit-up smell put you off. Because our recipe uses creamy whole milk fats, spit-up can sometimes smell stronger once it mixes with tummy acids. We know that’s unpleasant, but it isn’t a safety concern when the tin is in date, sealed before opening, and prepared as directed. If you want to keep exploring, a few tweaks can help reduce spit-up (and the smell): use kettle-boiled water cooled for no more than 30 minutes (≥70 °C), add water first then level scoops, check the teat flow isn’t too fast, pause to burp mid-feed, keep baby upright for 20–30 minutes after, and try slightly smaller, more frequent feeds. Hope this helps!
