I am so happy with this water filter. I am usually very sensitive to unfiltered water and have come across this filter simply to change from using other generic filters that have not been working well. It’s also very affordable and very easy to install.

Foul Tasting
I agree with the only other non-paid review... Wasted a HUGE amount of water (well over the 3.5 gallons recommended to flush filter), and the water is still really foul tasting. No bad smell, but makes you cringe with even the smallest sip. I put the dirty OEM filter back in and the water tasted much better.

Make sure you check your manufacturer directions so that you order the correct size for your fridge, that was also very clear and easy to figure out.

Culligan Replacement filter a bit disappointing
Culligan CUW1 Replacement Whirlpool is much cheaper than the OEM cartridge that is designed for your specific refrigerator. The fit is perfect and the installation is quite easy. The issue is that although this filter boasts to remove more impurities, the taste of the water is foul, as if chlorine or other elements still remain. We were disappointed as we had hoped we finally found a readonability priced replacement filter. Very surprised coming from a name like Culligan.

I didn't know they made water filters for your fridge and was happy to give this filter a try. It is just as good if not better than the fridge branded filters. It was easy to replace, flush the lines, and use. The water tasted fresh and didn't have any hint of chlorine like some of the other filters I tried had.

GE brand
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We initially had a GE filter when we first got the fridge. I switched to two other brands because the price was way cheaper for 3 of them vs the 1 GE filter……A few years later we noticed silver flakes in the water. I decided to flush the line but it would always return. We stopped using the fridge water for 6 months thinking it was the fridge. I read a review of the other filters and someone mentioned the same issue. I went back to the GE water filter and no more flakes and now the water is crystal clear.

Great Tasting Water

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tried and true. Product does exactly what it is marketed to do! It certainly lasts the 6 month guarantee for me. I live alone and have a split fridge with a vertical freezer and hardly ever have to change my filter. It feels very durable but it’s not heavy in weight. Fits perfectly into its slot and you only need to buy 2 or so per year.
