EKO Maxwell 50L Kitchen Matte Black Steel Step Trash Can

I really liked this trash can and was hesitant to purchase online because others had said it arrived dented. I should have listened because mine came in a box that was torn and the trash can was dented. FedEx was quite rough with it but the company should package it better so this doesn’t happen. Target has a few trash cans available open box on the shelf and I suggest just going there and buying one rather than taking the chance that yours will be one of the few that makes it in perfect condition.

The bags are easy to put in and while the trash can did come with branded bags, it also fits normal trash bags from the big box stores. The matte black color is very sleek and thankfully isn't easily scratched. Overall, a very solid trash can.

The hinge is quiet and smooth. The 13 gallon is perfect for a kitchen. The best part about this brand is that there is no installation and it comes with sample bags ready to use. Their bags are also high quality bags.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unfortunately, the inner plastic liner came cracked in two places along the top. I’m unable to get the liner out to put a trash bag around it, I found a trash compactor bag fit around the entire lid instead. The damage doesn’t get in the way of using the trash can, and the step function works very well and silently. The locking mechanism is an amazing addition if you need to keep the lid open. The can comes with liner bags, which is incredibly generous of EKO. Besides the damage, the garbage can is great. Very sleek looking, 50 liter capacity is perfect for my households needs. I haven’t noticed any garbage smell when the lid is closed.

However it stopped going up all of the way when I push the pedal down and it is way too pricy to mess up in that way. I love the size of it and how compact it is. I just feel like the pedal not working as well shouldn’t happen after having it for a couple of weeks. I don’t mind spending a good amount of money on something that works. But this isn’t it.
