Q: Why can’t this be used on rayon? What particular ingredient in this product is the reason behind not being able to use it on rayon?

A: When rayon comes into contact with vinegar or other products with a low pH level, it can cause shrinkage or other distortions. This is because the rayon fibers tighten up when exposed to low pH.

A: Thanks for reaching out to us. As of the 2021 relaunch, both 9 Elements Laundry Detergent and 9 Elements Purifying Softener no long state the number of loads per bottle. The reason for this is is because these figures are approximate and can vary based on how much product is used each time. To get the most out of the bottle, make sure to follow the dosing directions. For regular loads, fill to just below bar 2 on the cap. For larger loads, fill to the 3rd bar or more. Q: What amounts should be used with HE machines? The amount recommended on the label for regular loads is more than the max on my HE washer.

I LOVE this detergent & will be continuing to buy, but the last few I’ve purchased have been basically impossible to open! Like the lid was fused & we had to cut it open with power tools. I thought the first was a fluke, but I can’t open a 2nd bottle now purchased weeks later.

I wanted an A rating citrus laundry soap on the EWG scale, and this wins! The vinegar in it is powerful enough that I no longer have to add any vinegar to my loads for softness. It does great with stains and the smell is not overwhelming but does stay in the clothing post dryer with a light scent if you use up to line 4 or 5 on the pour cup. I find that this soap isn’t very thick so you may use more if you want lingering scent; but the value of this product, scent, and cleanliness of clothes is worth it. Also note, I have well water and it works great still! I ditched my “unclean” Seventh Generation citrus soap for this and won’t be going back!

Partner had an allergic reaction to the smell coming off of the clothes. I washed one load with about 1/3 the recommended amount. He sniffed the product before I used it with no reaction. But when the product was in the machine he became ill. The scent was 20 fold on the clothes. I’ve now washed this load of clothes 4 times in other detergents and odor eliminators. Nothing will get the smell out. I think I may have to throw out a whole load of clothes. Pretty surprised and upset.

All our products are thoroughly evaluated to be safe when used as directed, and we recommend discontinuing use of the product. To remove the odor, we recommend you rewash with the hottest water safe for the fabric, using the recommended amount of detergent and fabric softener. If items are bleach-safe, use bleach while washing. If they are not bleach safe, one cup of vinegar can be added to the wash instead. This is my holy grail, ride or die, GOAT laundry detergent for cleaning everything from daily use sportswear to hundreds of vintage evening and wedding gowns every year (my family owns a vintage shop). I've cleaned everything from my expensive Lulu leggings to 30s rayon and the detergent does the trick - it gets things squeaky clean, it's super gentle on fabric and my skin, and it's good for the environment. It also smells amazing, kind of like Sprite - and is gentle on my ultra sensitive skin. We buy five at a time, no joke. Please never stop making this amazing stuff!

I love this product. I gave it 4 stars because it is impossible to fully empty the container. Yes, most detergents you can tip upside down to get the bottom of the product out. Not this one! The cap is designed so that tipping upside down only catches it before it can get to the pour spout. There is literally 1 - 1 1/2 loads of laundry that could be done with what will not come out of the bottle. WHY? It’s a very poor design.
