Q: Why can’t this be used on rayon? What particular ingredient in this product is the reason behind not being able to use it on rayon?

A: When rayon comes into contact with vinegar or other products with a low pH level, it can cause shrinkage or other distortions. This is because the rayon fibers tighten up when exposed to low pH.

A: Thanks for reaching out to us. As of the 2021 relaunch, both 9 Elements Laundry Detergent and 9 Elements Purifying Softener no long state the number of loads per bottle. The reason for this is is because these figures are approximate and can vary based on how much product is used each time. To get the most out of the bottle, make sure to follow the dosing directions. For regular loads, fill to just below bar 2 on the cap. For larger loads, fill to the 3rd bar or more. Q: What amounts should be used with HE machines? The amount recommended on the label for regular loads is more than the max on my HE washer.

Sorry you feel this way, Celeste. Each of our detergent bottles contains at least the number of ounces stated on the pack. Our bottles are designed and filled to allow for proper pouring. Liquids are filled by volume, in fluid ounces (eg. 92 FL OZ liquid). The bottle may not appear to be full as space is left for product to help with.

This detergent cleans better than other clean detergents I’ve tried (Mollys, Rebel Green, Ecos). However, the scent goes sour SO BADLY once placed in the dryer. I may try purchasing the unscented version.

Great Product
Working as a welder, this is my go to detergent for a safe, deep clean! Cuts smells, cleans dirt/oil/grime with no problem. It's been a lifesaver for my laundry. The fragrance is fresh, but not overwhelming. Highly recommend for sensitive skin and delicate materials as well. All around a fantastic product!

Better than Seventh Gen
I wanted an A rating citrus laundry soap on the EWG scale, and this wins! The vinegar in it is powerful enough that I no longer have to add any vinegar to my loads for softness. It does great with stains and the smell is not overwhelming but does stay in the clothing post dryer with a light scent if you use up to line 4 or 5 on the pour cup. I find that this soap isn’t very thick so you may use more if you want lingering scent; but the value of this product, scent, and cleanliness of clothes is worth it. Also note, I have well water and it works great still! I ditched my “unclean” Seventh Generation citrus soap for this and won’t be going back!

Scent Accelerates when it’s in water and clothes
Partner had an allergic reaction to the smell coming off of the clothes. I washed one load with about 1/3 the recommended amount. He sniffed the product before I used it with no reaction. But when the product was in the machine he became ill. The scent was 20 fold on the clothes. I’ve now washed this load of clothes 4 times in other detergents and odor eliminators. Nothing will get the smell out. I think I may have to throw out a whole load of clothes. Pretty surprised and upset.

To remove the odor, we recommend you rewash with the hottest water safe for the fabric, using the recommended amount of detergent and fabric softener. If items are bleach-safe, use bleach while washing. If they are not bleach safe, one cup of vinegar can be added to the wash instead.
