A: Hi Dale. The BISSELL CleanView Compact Turbo Upright Vacuum does not have a switch to turn off the brush roll for hard floors. If you're primarily cleaning hard floors, BISSELL recommends using a vacuum with a brush roll on/off feature or one specifically designed for hard surfaces.

I love how light weight this vaccum is and that’s about it. It doesn’t do well picking up hair. When I first started using it, it took a couple passes over the rug to get it decent. Now just a few short months later, it just kicks the hair up in the air and pushes the hair around. Wouldn’t recommend. I’m shopping for a new one only after about 2 months.

Pay for what you get. It’s definitely lightweight so that’s a plus. But like others say, it tips as you pull it and it spits out my dog fur. 95% of my house is wood flooring and me chasing the same furballs around, but even the low pile rug takes several swipes. I didn’t expect Dyson quality but I’m already shopping for another vacuum and I’ve had this for maybe 3 months so take what you will with that
