Elvie Pump is a silent wearable electric breast pump that can be connected to a free app for additional features. Completely redesigned for modern lives, Elvie Pump makes it possible to pump anytime, anywhere.
Simply place the pumps in your nursing bra, turn them on and press Play on the pumps or in the app to start your pumping session. Elvie Pump will automatically switch from Stimulation to Expression mode and will stop pumping when the bottle is full. Elvie Pump is designed to fit in your bra, and your life - so you can go about your daily routine while you pump.
I work in the physical therapy dept at a skilled nursing facility and we need to maintain a certain productivity percentage. This pump allows me to pump and treat patients at the same time and it means more than anyone will ever know that pumping times during work are no longer a stress of mine. I am small, so the pumps make my boobs look very large but I just wear a light weight scarf around my neck that drapes over my chest and no one ever would know that I’m pumping. Plus it is so quiet (until the let down happens and then you hear the drips). I am in love. I’m very aware to not bend over though, as I have heard it could leak if you do that and I’m not going to test it and risk losing any milk. I do wish that each pump came in something more substantial other than a drawstring bag... like a padded zipper bag would be nice for both or each of them considering the price you’re paying for this item.
It is a good idea and convenient for on the go or when guests are over. It also has some cons such as I don’t think i get as much milk from it than my Medela pump. Sometimes my Elvie will just shut off without me turning it off. Sometimes it will tell me the bottle is full and turn off when it only has 1 ounce in the bottle. It leaks sometimes. I think overall it is handy to have but definitely over priced for all the issues it has.
Having tried the traditional electric pump and found that it made me feel agitated, sore and with poor yields, I was turned off expressing completely until I spoke to a friend who had invested in an Elvie pump. She used the phrase “game changer” and I have to agree. This pump is easy to use, it gives you back your time and freedom which is so valuable when you are getting to grips with life as a mum to a small baby. I’m so glad I got mine early into my breastfeeding experience because it has definitely helped me to continue nursing.
I’ve been using my pump for 3 weeks. I could only afford one so that’s what I’m using. First time I tried it, I must have had the round green piece assembled incorrectly because I didn’t pump anything. I was bumped but tried again a few days later. Once I learned how to use it, I was set. I’m a teacher and can pump while Im teaching. It feels so much more natural than my medela pump. My breasts hurt less and the actual pumping session is longer then medela (again more natural). I have to set a timer so I don’t forget I’m pumping. The sensor is off most of the time, but I know how much milk I get.
I bought this 3 weeks ago. It has been a complete game changer. I can pump on the move, when doing the washing up, whilst cuddling my baby and when driving. Brilliant. The only issue is that occasionally the pump just stops and I have to plug in and then it works again, even if not out of charge..... Also, the light for the right and left breasts has stopped working, which is a little annoying and means I have to remember which breast I did last!! I think the electrics are just a bit rubbish. However, it allows pumping almost anywhere.
I've been using the Elvie exclusively (no other pumps used) since my daughter's birth at the end of December 2019. Initially, I was pumping at least 8 times a day to bring in milk. About 3 weeks into it, I was able to scale back my pumping to about half (4 times a day) while nursing her the rest of the time. I have found that the portability of the units was a definite plus and probably the only thing I am happy about. My biggest complaint is with the pump suction reliability. Because I pump so regularly (every 2-3 hours) and the need to clean the parts after each use, the pump suction was not always consistent. I've found from other user reviews that in order for the pump suction to be good, all parts must to completely dry. However, even when I've verified that all parts are dry, the pump is still not always consistently working. In fact, at times if I turn the units off and come back to them later (without doing anything differently) they will suddenly work again. Along the same lines of suction performance, when I need to empty a container mid session due to it being full, the unit will once again be unable to suck due to moisture collecting in the silicone seals. For being such a high cost item, I'm pretty dissatisfied with the reliability and performance. I've also experienced on several occasions where the milk leaked through the front of the unit where the container clicks in. The cleaning of the various parts (5) were also a bit cumbersome. The milk container was shaped in such a manner that moisture would always be retained even when placed upside down to dry.
Yes - this is expensive but, if you’re able to buy, I can not recommend the Elvie highly enough. With an Elvie, pumping isn’t a chore. It isn’t really anything. Just pop it in your bra, turn it on and get on with living your life. Set up and cleaning both take seconds. It’s not silent but it is discreet and very effective. Believe the hype!
I bought this around 3 weeks ago. And it has changed my life and made things much easier for me. My 1 month baby was feeding every 2.5hrs and each feed lasted over an 1hr!! Unfortunately he was still not gaining weight!! Elvie has made the pumping soo easy. I get to pump everywhere.. whilst doing everything!! I get to pump whilst cooking.. doing the laundry...working online and even whilst spending nice quality time with my baby during his awake time! Thank YOU Elvie!
