Q: How easy is this blender to clean? Is it like a traditional blender of two rubber rings to remove? I am looking for something simple to clean, i.e. take top off base, unscrew lid and put in dishwasher

A: Super easy..add a couple of drops of dish soap and at least 8oz of water and blend!! Then rinse and let fry (if you dont want to use the dish washer)..

I rinse the blade in hot water right after use and even purchased small brushes it clean around the threading inside. Then I wash it in the dishwasher. It stills smells awful!! I’ve even tried soaking it in straight vinegar..no help! Never had this issue with other blenders. Gross!

This is the first higher priced blender I've ever purchased and it was well worth it. This Ninja blender powers through frozen fruit and ice while staying firmly placed on the countertop. Excellent.

I upgraded just recently and am loving the power of the ninja nutrí-blender pro! 1100 powerful watts makes for the creamiest smoothies and smoothie bowls and powers through all ingredients. Even nuts!! I use mine every day for a morning smoothie. I’m able to blend my smoothie in the 24oz cups, pop on a to-go lid and head out the fit with a delicious, fresh, quickly made fruit smoothie. Super easy to clean and pretty compact in size for easy storage. Another win for Ninja!!!

Well it's been working fine, the way it's designed if your not careful stuff gets stuck in the threads of the cup, was looking closely at the blade assembly and notice lots of stuff in the gasket area, I pulled it out to clean but it doesn't come clean, I've hit it with just about everything that wouldn't melt in. So I figured I'll just replace it, no big deal. Well ninja doesn't sell it you have to buy the whole freak blade assembly! Looked on Amazon, they have plenty gaskets but none for this one. So I guess you're supposed to remove the gasket every time you clean it, and hope you don't destroy it, or just spend $30+ to replace the whole blade assembly! I wouldn't recommend for just that reason.

Bushing in blender blade disintegrated with light use. Not even a year old and the it leaks through the bottom of the blade. Took it apart and the bushing or seal is what was spinning out with the liquid. Also the gasket to seal the blades to the cup is very hard to remove. Ninja does not sell a new gasket on their website. I don't recommend this blender or any of their blenders that use the same blade attachment. For the high price you should get a blender that lasts for years not months!

The wrong product is being adversed!!! The description for this item is the SS101 Ninja Foodie Blender but I got the SS100. It was supposed to come with 2 blender cups and 1 bowl but got one of each instead.

Incredibly loud. Plastic base of the blade broke at 6 weeks, bought replacement piece and now it doesn’t spin. It does a good job blending and we like the cups and lids. Overall it is too loud and poor quality- would not buy again.

This smoothie maker worked well for 1 1/2 years. It gets used hard (almost daily and sometimes 2x/day), it is powerful and blends well (including harder food items such as nuts and seeds). When loaded properly, it has never jammed up on me, it is easy to clean and is well-made to last at least a year. Unfortunately, something inside the blade assembly has been slowly breaking down over the past few months (I would find bits of black plastic in the area between the base and blade assembly) and now the contents started leaking out into the base when blending. Since it is past the 1 year warranty time limit, I went on the Ninja website and was able to order a replacement blade assembly for $40 (includes tax and shipping). Everything else seems to be working fine, so hopefully it will serve me well for another 1 1/2 years. I always hand-wash everything and take good care of it. In summary, this is a great appliance, but just know that it may not last for more than 1 to 1 1/2 years (I orginially paid about $95 for it so that comes out to about 17 cents/day for 1 1/2 years of use), but it was worth it to me.

This smoothie maker is a beast and is definitely effective at blending up smoothies but it definitely has a couple flaws. First, it's loud. I guess that goes with the powerful motor. The second is the gasket. I can't believe that such a flawed design made it to market. It's almost impossible to remove to clean but needs removed after every use or it gets caked with funky residue. You can search how to remove it for tips. Ninja needs to either design it better or include a tool for removing the gasket.

Ninja blender that I've used for my smoothies have been amazing. The only thing that I will say is that it's a bit loud when making your smoothies or sauces but other than that, it's a great blender and does the trick.

Lasted less than a year. I was fairly annoying to use as the torque was too much for the small base and thus it was always sliding around on the counter even with the attached suction cups which are supposed to contain. Today as other reviews have stated i noticed it smelling and smoking. So im not risking using it anymore. I love my Ninja foodie, but this product was a fail.

I like that this has a timer so you don't have to watch how long it is on. I also like that it has suction cups on the bottom so it doesn't slide around. BUT it is REALLY loud. I actually would not have purchased if I realized that. Everyone in the house hates when I use it, which is about everyday. It does break down fruits and veggies with ease but I would return if I could.

I purchased thisachine new in box from a vendor at a flea market 3 years ago. I have used it at least 4 times a week since.. I am very impressed with it. I also own several Ninja products coffee maker blender food processor as well as my adult children who own this brand and I've purchased items for my friends...I don't believe I'll ever purchase any other brand..

I bought they because my huge Ninja blender that was super old was a pin to take in and out to make a smoothie every morning…this is little, love the suction cups on the bottom and it works beautifully for a perfect smoothie, smoothie bowls, milkshake, and even homemade water ice!

This unit seems more powerful than another brand we’ve used for a long time but the design of the gasket that goes around the blade is completely unsanitary. There are no directions for cleaning it. After looking online you essentially have to pry it out with a crochet hook and scrub each time. It is not covered under warranty and ninja only sells the full blade which runs almost half the cost of the entire unit. Thank goodness for third party engineering to solve this health problem at a fraction of the cost and with little waste. If you notice an awful smell coming from your unit, this is the culprit. A brand this well-known should not have this issue. If there wasn’t a third party solution I would be giving this away and going back to another brand that doesn’t risk my health. Scrub and soak the gasket all you want but the mold will not budge. The features of the unit are nice and customer service was kind but this is really dangerous.

Absolute GARBAGE appliance. Built to market and sell. Not built to perform. This appliance by trying to be a hybrid does many things OK but nothing great. Don’t waste your money or FOOD. Difficult to get food out after blending, processing, smoothying. Cumbersome lid thingy just an absolute fail. NO SPEED CONTROL. 3 buttons all the same speed. Looks good on paper but not in the kitchen. I’ve found myself swearing at this appliance enough that I’m retiring my Ninja and moving to a more customer friendly appliance.
