Q: Can you use regular batteries and just replace them?

submitted by Roxie B - 2 years ago

  • A: Hello there! You cannot use regular batteries for the Philips One by Sonicare Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush. This model comes with an integrated rechargeable battery that is not designed to be replaced. It includes a USB charger, and a single charge can last up to 30 days. However, there is a Philips One by Sonicare Battery Toothbrush model that uses a replaceable AAA battery. If you prefer a toothbrush with replaceable batteries, you might want to consider this option instead.

I bought this for travel and it is much smaller than my home electric toothbrush. It is rechargeable and the charger isn't the big clunky type, but beware it is USB to some other 2 pronged thing. I bought it thinking it was USB to USB-C. Minor issue but worth mentioning. It comes with the charging cord. And the carrying case is slim amd covers the brush head portion of the wand. Nearly perfect for travel

Not worth the money

The vibration comes from the handle and ends up not effecting the brush head as much as other electric toothbrushes. I'd say you're better off buying something else, because you get what you pay for here.

No more proprietary chargers

This is a great travel toothbrush except for one thing. Why, for the love of Gerard and Anton Philips didn't you use a USB C charger. The cable you provided plugs into a USB A port so it's not a power issue. So once the brush head is used up or the battery dies I'll probably toss it and find something else

Waste of money

Don’t waste your money on this barely electric toothbrush. I thought it would make a good alternative to my Sonicare for travel. It really isn’t any better than the free toothbrush they give after a cleaning and the cover that comes with it doesn’t stay closed. I had to use a rubberband to keep it closed. It did not make my teeth feel clean like a real electric toothbrush does.

Turned itself on randomly at night.

Toothbrush has been great for the past 5 months. Only needed to charge it once and just installed a new head last month. That is until missy now, 3:40am Tuesday, May 5th 2026. The toothbrush decided to turn itself on randomly and vibrate a glass cup right off a shelf that shattered all over my bathroom floor, toilet and shower. Woke us up abruptly startled. It's been a fantastic last 30 minutes of my life cleaning uo all the glass in the bathroom. I normally do no not leave reviews for anything ane this is for sure the first one star for me, but I am a bit grumpy at the moment and thought this warrants my time to leave this. Straight into the t-file with this brush.

Returning due to not having a USB-C charge port

I bought this as a travel solution as my Sonicare toothbrush can be a bit much to bring with me to the gym or quick trips. Unfortunately I didn’t see that it doesn’t have a USB-C port in the toothbrush, but uses a proprietary adapter cable. It’s 2026 — USB-C has been around for a decade and most people already have USB-C cables/chargers which in a pinch could be used to charge this toothbrush. The other issue is that it requires an entire subset of heads compared to the sonic care toothbrush which adds another layer of complexity. In the end I am going to return them as it’s not an ideal solution. I don’t want to have yet another proprietary cable that will eventually become lost.

Does not clean well at all. It is like a manual toothbrush but in my opinion cleans WORSE than a manual toothbrush. Vibrating is for show. 0/10 waste of money.

disappointed

I read old reviews, and the new product descriptions obfuscate the charging situation. I wanted to buy a USB-C. Instead, I learn they replaced it with something proprietary that does not serve my needs. This will be going in the trash.
