A: Our organic ingredients are intentionally sourced from all over the world, varying from the USA all the way to Sri Lanka. However, each country of origin is subject to change based on supply availability. If, after using our soap, there is residue on your skin, or on any surface, you probably have hard water. The interaction of hard water with any true soap (not synthetic detergent–based soaps) can leave behind a thin film of minerals that appears as residue or “soap scum.” There are two solutions to the problem: either soften the water or use a diluted vinegar rinse to dissolve the mineral film or residue.

While we do not make any products specifically for sensitive skin or regions of the body, many of our soaps work very well for those with skin sensitivities. Although our Pure-Castile Soaps were not specifically made for these delicate areas and are fairly alkaline, with a pH of 9.75-10, we do receive much positive feedback that they perform just fine on sensitive skin. However, as we are all different and some may be more sensitive than others, we recommend that you do a spot test with the soap first. For those with sensitive skin or for more sensitive areas of the body, we suggest using our Baby Unscented Pure-Castile Soap, as some of the essential oils, such as Peppermint or Eucalyptus, can be a bit strong for these areas. If you are still unsure or have unique sensitivities, we recommend that you consult with your preferred medical professional to determine which product is right for you. To do so, we recommend lathering the bar on the area of skin you wish to shave to create a creamy foam. You can also cut it to fit as a shaving cake in bottom of a shaving cup and then whip up a lather with a wet shaving brush.
