I purchased this yesterday to receive the $5.00 credit, which ends the 31st. Why is this product not considered a health care Item? That is why I ordered 3?

I bought it expired and the product has separated and is not usable

This product is not serum-like. It’s the usual mineral sunscreen experience, maybe a little thinner, all depending on what you’ve tried before. You can only make a molecule a certain size and no one should be using nano particles. —(Even if you love this stuff and hate my review, please, please stay away from nano- SPF? It’s terrible for ecosystems and the jury is still out on what absorbing it does to you!)— The “non- nano” mineral formula would be why people have left reviews about “white cast” or appearing “ashy” and even “having to cut back from two pumps.” And the mention of “needing to double cleanse” is being generous! A mineral sunscreen is a physical block. And I don’t know why, but this one contains coconut oil too. I’m not going to call it non-comedogenic. They’re made using zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide. The former is most prevalent. This mineral just happens to be the ingredient in the thick, white, baby diaper rash cream. Hoping everyone is familiar with it. Like a greasy, yet chalky, ointment. That forms a “barrier” between the skin and diaper. (And yes, in a pinch you can absolutely use that on yourself. Just be prepared for the “You missed a spot when you were rubbing in your sunscreen, there’s white there and here and…” comments lol. Which happens with this product too. But that stuff is great for completely whiting out any hyperpigmentation/spots you want to keep from the sun etc. if you’re outside in private or just don’t care. : ) So it’s basically doing for your skin against the sun what it does for a baby’s butt against wetness and irritation. But, you know what else those creams do? Dry the skin. Which is good for a baby’s butt in a diaper, not so much for my facial skin. I don’t need or want a greasy yet drying, white-appearing, “tinted” SPF that requires a five step process to truly get it washed off. I also don’t love the many tinted products. Who wants to wipe their face on a towel and leave brown streaks?As for the total removal, I’m being serious. I take long showers. Forty minutes, sometimes longer, and when I say that between the steam, hot water and two separate washes (one at the start with a scrubbing tool, and then one with my hands at the very end to make sure I don’t have conditioner etc left on my face) I am still left feeling this coming out of my pores later— but again, this is not HT specific. It is mineral SPF specific. So, if you’re prone to breakouts, I can’t recommend this in good conscience. It might be okay. But it might also be weeks before your pores decide to protest. While this product is by no means the worst I’ve ever tried, I am disappointed. I wish HT would bring back their original, white bottle with a blue lid, blue and black writing on it, SPF 15! I miss it so much. Had that smell we all love! It managed to be a great body and face SPF, which is rare for me and I loved having to only carry one bottle! And even with my sensitive skin, I never had an issue with irritation or breakouts. And it used chemicals but not avobenzone (the bane of my- and others- existence!). I would happily buy that again. In a multi-pack!! Alas…maybe they’ll read this, and bring it back? Hahaha. I was a bit excited to try the “Matte Effect” SPF that I saw on this site. It seemed promising but I was/am trying not to buy multiple SPF’s at once because I never use any up before they expire. My mistake, I guess. Because it’s nowhere to be seen now? And I’m left kicking myself. Sorry so long. TL/DR? Greasy, yet drying, hard to wash off, white cast, fragrance on face, small bottle for adequate coverage, another blah mineral sunscreen. Better than the ones from CeraVe, Aveeno and even Supergoop’s mineral sunscreen but not close to the offerings from EltaMD. (Yes, it is pricey. But according to every derm I’ve seen or heard says buy the one you’ll actually use. So you need to like it.) Hope this helps and that you find your personal HG SPF. If you do, don’t forget to stock up!

I started squirting the sunscreen and what do you see? liquid. I put it in my fridge so maybe something would happen? still wasent sunscreen! then i tryed to mix it and the straw came OFF! But im happy target let me have a replacement.. Lets see how that goes..

I use Hawaiian tropic weightless sunscreen and after sun lotion every year and was reordering. If you spent over a certain amount you receive a free mineral face sunscreen for free. My daughter was very excited for this to come in. We didn’t realize it was a tinted. My daughter tried it for the first time at a softball game. And her teammates got a good laugh. My daughter has a natural tan skin and the face sunscreen made her look very pale white. Unfortunately they didn’t take a picture. My daughter’s teammates also used her face sunscreen and it also made a lot of them look very pale in the face. They loved the smell. Some said that it was a little greasy. Most of the softball girls loved the face sunscreen, except the face tint. It did leave a slight rash on my daughter’s cheeks that went away overnight.

I bought this a couple months ago as I was using the 50 spf mineral sunscreen for my face before, for about a year and a half. This tinted one made me break out and was so greasy, I had to use a lot of setting powder to make myself look more presentable. I wouldn’t buy again but I did like that it’s tinted.

I thought I was going to like this face sunscreen better. However, upon getting it, there was water or oil that was not mixing with the actual prodcut. I had to shake it for a good 10 minutes to get it to the normal consistency. It is thicker than other face spf products I have used. I really do like the smell and that it is protecting my face.

I bought this today and tried it for my run. Five miles of sweating in the heat and then I applied body wash directly to my face, neck and arms. It didn't wash off. I then used an apricot scub. No luck. I then scrubbed with an abrasive scrubber with more body wash. I could still feel it on my skin. I applied a scented lotion after the shower to hopefully cover it up. Hours later, my husband came home from work, gave me a hug, stepped away and then said, "Are you wearing sunscreen?" Yeah, I know. I can't get it off. I'm going to have to learn how to shed my skin if I want this suncreen smell and film to go away. If you want to wear this stuff forever, apply it. If you'd like to have your normal skin back after a shower, do not apply under any circumstances.

I'm pale and have had issues in the past with tinted sunseens giving me an orange tint. This does not do that, but I feel like it may give the slightest white cast (which I can't tell for sure). It smells nice, blends well, looks great right when I put it on, but by the end of the day I am embarassingly shiny. I have medium to dry sensitive skin. I don't care enough to carry a powder compact with me because this not even 2 ounce sunscreen is making me look like a middle schooler.

I love this stuff. It doesn’t break me out and leaves a pretty glowy finish to my face. Layers well underneath makeup. The only downside is that it does seem to separate, so give it a good shake before you apply. Will definitely buy again!

This stuff is totally separated even after shaking a lot. It also feels oily and I wish I got one of my regular face sunscreens instead of trying this one.

I loved everything about this, the tint was perfect for my fair skin which is so rare. However it broke me out (i have adult hormonal acne) so I very sadly had to return

It was good and left my face glowy, but it wasnt very tinted and left a noticeable white cast when I used the recommended amount of spf

Definitely has a strong white cast no matter how much rubbing in you do. A little greasy and still got a little burned. Smells good though.

Don’t buy! It is watery and it seems expired. I didn’t like it.

I love Hawaiian Tropic almost everything, don't get me wrong. Love!! But I was not a fan of this product. I got the tinted version and have fair skin and it still left a white cast. Kind of surprised me. Used it once. Maybe this one is just not for me.

Excellent coverage with fair skin tint. Doesn't run or stain clothing.
