Good for fans of logic and deduction puzzles
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This board game is endlessly fun, but be sure to read the rules carefully. An adult will probably have to help younger players get the hang of things as it involves selecting cards and utilizing those as clues to solve the crime through process of elimination. I love that it inspires critical thinking and reasoning, and the game itself is visually appealing and well constructed. Strong points being that the game is different every time, the dry erase boards make for note keeping and simple clean up, and it was appealing to young and older players alike. I feel like the learning curve for extremely young players might require a little assistance at times. Another point being that solving the crime itself doesn’t guarantee a win, and you have to play carefully and strategically. I actually like this factor because I feel that older players might have less of an advantage in this case because the luck of what cards you draw can also influence who wins. This adds an interesting element to game play.

Fun game
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This game is a lot of fun to play. Everyone in my family had a blast playing it. It reminds me of a different game with the same concept. We will definitely continue to play this game. I highly recommend giving it a try, if you love board games.

A great game of deduction for all ages.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A great who-done-it game of deduction. My 7 year old loves it. Kids really have to use their brains to figure out the the case. Everyone tries to solve the case, and whoever uses the least clues wins. A great quality game you can play over and over again. A great game of deduction for kids and adults.

Great game!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I love doing murder mysteries, especially with friends! So when we saw this version for kids, we knew it would be perfect for our kids and theirs to play while we are doing our adult versions! They love to play, and it’s great that it can be played over and over with multiple outcomes. Overall, this is a great game!

Kinda like Clue
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] On first glance, this looks like a game created in the years passed. The artwork on the box is more subdued in color giving it a vintage vibe, something I associate with those too old to play a game called Clue. Which is exactly a good thing because this is for older kids, it’s more mature in language and rules/goals to win. I will say i liked the cultural and racial diversity it incorporated and while it wasn’t as exciting as something like kings island, it wasn’t dull and it’ll allowed for higher critical thinking than it’s relative board game Clue.

Fun short family game
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing family-friendly deduction game with quick set-up and simple rules. The use of programming system to make the clue finding takes a time to get use to but it is quite awesome to play with my 8 and 10 year olds. It is a short game that last 20 minutes so it can keep you engaging.

SO MUCH FUN!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a family who LOVES escape rooms we were so excited to give this at home mystery game a try. It was a huge hit once we got all of the rules down. This took about 5 or so rounds with my 9 year old. She now loves it and wishes we could play it all the time!

Fun
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a fun game. My daughter is 10 so we needed something a little more challenging, and this was just the ticket. The game is also really well made. The pieces are very nice and high quality.

Way too Many steps!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got The Key: Murder at the Oakdale Club mystery game. I thought this was going to be a great game for my 9 year old. This game has WAY too many instructions. It was hard to keep up and understand how to read the cards and what to even do. As a 30 something year old adult, I was confused and flustered. I definitely would not recommend.

Complex, but fun
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This game is pretty complex, but it's fun. My husband gave up after page 1 of the instructions. There is a lot going on. It plays very similar to a logic problem where some clues cannot be used until bits and pieces fall into place. One thing to note is that each player is playing their own individual game of sorts. Once the play starts, there is zero interaction with other players, no turn taking, or anything. It's simply a race to grab cards and figure out the clues to solve the puzzle. I'd say the 8 & up age is pretty accurate. My 7 year old can play most 8 & up games without issue, but again, this one is complex. There are some cards that require multiplication, and the eye witness cards are in military time, which threw us all for a loop at first. I kept thinking it was an amount of time in minutes:seconds. It wasn't until halfway through our second play that it clicked. Beware grabbing the wrong color cards! Those have thrown us all off at one point. The dry erase cards are genius! I wish more games had something like that over a pad and paper. So yes, this game has a lot of components, but it is fun if you like a good logic puzzle. My 10 year old has asked to play it probably 6-8 times in two days. I'm on the fence a bit myself simply because you play next to, but not with your kids.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ok, spoiler alert, I love this thing a lot. This is such a great item! It can be so hard to find an activity that the whole family can enjoy, but this fits the bill. Box says 8 and up but even my 7 year old had fun!

Deduction fun for families
This is a great logic game encouraging deductive reasoning and critical thinking. The simultaneous play allows for no down time and each player is able to go at their own pace. The reward for finishing first if you're correct adds just enough of a time pressure without causing stress. The murder theme was a bit off putting for a family game, but I'm glad we went for it. It is great fun! We all enjoy playing this game.
