Description

Philips Avent Glass Natural bottle with the Natural Response nipple lets baby control the pace of the milk, like they do when breastfeeding. The nipples' unique opening and tip only releases milk when your baby actively drinks. When pausing to swallow and breathe no milk flows. Baby can drink, swallow, and breathe using their natural rhythm, just like they do when breastfeeding. Easily combine breast and bottle feeding with a wide breast-shaped nipple with a soft feel that mimics the shape and feel of a breast; plus baby controlling the flow of milk like they do when breastfeeding. The nipple has a no-drip design which helps prevent lost milk from the tip. An anti-colic valve integrated into the nipple is designed to reduce colic and discomfort by sending air away from your baby's tummy. The ergonomic shape makes it comfortable for parents to hold. Assembly is simple with only a few parts and the wide bottle neck makes filling and cleaning easy. This Natural Philips Avent bottle is made of premium quality borosilicate glass, a BPA free material. It is heat and thermal shock resistant, so it can be safely stored in the fridge, warmed and is easy to wash and sterilize. The Natural response nipples come in flow rates 1-5, to keep up with your baby's growth. We recommend using the Philips Avent Natural baby bottle with Philips Avent Natural bottle nipples. Includes: 3 8oz Glass Natural bottle with Natural Response nipple flow 3. SCY913/03

What to expect when introducing the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple:

-It's totally natural for your baby to take 2-3 tries to get milk flowing from a new bottle. Unlike traditional bottles the Natural bottle is designed to only release milk when your baby is actively drinking, like what happens when babies breastfeed.

-We have 5 different nipple flow rates for the Natural bottle. When looking for the right nipple flow rate, age is a guide, but your baby's approach to drinking and the feeding cues they will show will help determine when to move to a higher or lower nipple flow rate.

Packaging uses 100% plastic alternative, FSC-certified paper, with great potential to be widely circular for majority of product packaging.

Q: does this work with breast pumps

submitted by klm - 3 years ago
  • A: These bottles do fit my spectra pump flange, yes! I like pumping into them to avoid collecting milk in glass. However, the fit between the plastic flange and glass bottle isn’t perfectly snug, so you have to watch to be sure it doesn’t come unscrewed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose a 1 star because the only thing I like about these bottles are that they are glass. The nipples are so hard for my newborn to suck that she can't get any milk out and wears herself out so much that she just sleeps and won't eat enough. I bought what I thought would be enough bottles so that we could use just the Philips Avent bottles and also newborn and size 3 nipples. My newborn can't even suck the milk out of the size 3 nipples. Now I am scrabbling trying to find a nipple that will fit the glass bottles and a nipple that she can easily drink out of. I wish I wouldn't have bought these bottles at all.

Love the bottles. They heat up very easily and aren’t as toxic as heating plastic over and over again for baby. They are very sturdy but easy to hang on to even when baby is swinging little arms everywhere.

My husband and I put these on our registry because we had read lots of positive reviews, but within the first 4 days we noticed milk leaking out as we were feeding our baby and mixing formula. We lost nearly the whole ounce of milk through leakage. The Dr. Brown's bottles are much more durable! We have not run into a single issue with those. We use Dr. Brown's glass bottles DAILY. It's too easy to overtighten the lids with these bottles. What feels just right", in terms of lid tightness, is actually too much. Over tightening the lid bends the 2 teeth of the white ring, causes gaps, and allows for the leakage. I once had nearly 3 oz of formula leak out of the bottle while feeding my baby at night. I checked for leaks before feeding and thought the lid was secure. I would not recommend these for that reason alone. It's not worth having to remake and reheat formula or breast milk and losing track of how much your baby is eating. If you do consider buying these, the nipple is great for newborns! They have to suck in order to get milk, like they would during breastfeeding. The Dr. Browns nipples let the milk slowly drip out even with no sucking. No drip nipples are helpful if your baby chokes easily like mine did.

Leaks so bad!

Why do these bottles leak so badly??? It’s almost impossible to get the lid on perfectly straight but even if you do they might still leak. We’ve been drenched so many times. So much wasted breast milk. The lid can be screwed on all the way, you can test it and still end up with milk leaking from where it screws on. They’re good besides that but this is a horrible flaw. I’ve bought multiple packages and they all do it. This should not be a thing! Fix this!! After 5 months I’ve had enough, I’ll be switching bottles.

I love that these bottles are made of glass. It would’ve been nice for the box to make it clear you need the whole of the white rim and the whole of the nipple to align for anything to come out it. My husband and I learned the hard way with our newborn when nothing was coming out the bottle and then read the reviews.

I love the glass bottle itself. It’s sturdy, and beautiful, but one of my bottles was cracked, so I had to throw out and not use. Target was able to refund. My 4 month old baby seems to do okay with the nipple itself, just not the flow. It’s too fast for him. I know every baby is different, though.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I have been using the Philips Avent Glass Natural 8 oz bottle for a few weeks now after receiving it from Stellar Product Testing Panel, and it’s easily one of the best we’ve tried. First off, it looks and feels super high-end — the glass is thick, sturdy, and has a nice weight to it (not too heavy though). You can just tell it’s well-made, and something about the glass just makes me love the slick look as well! It holds up great to heat — we’ve warmed it, sterilized it, run it through the dishwasher — and it still looks brand new. No weird smells or warping like some plastic bottles we’ve used before. It feels really safe using it daily! The nipple is soft and shaped really naturally, and our baby was able to pace himself with the flow — no choking or spilling. For now, the flow rate is just right, but it’s nice knowing we can switch to a faster one later. What we love most is that it’s very easy to clean, feels totally safe, and works great for both breast and bottle feeding. If you’re looking for a high-quality glass bottle that’s safe and baby-friendly, this one’s a win, and baby approved!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Phillips Avent Glass Natural Baby Bottle to test as part of the Stellar Review Panel. My favorite thing about the bottles is that they’re glass. We definitely wanted ti stay away from all plastic bottles when feeding our baby, even the ones that say “BPA free” because these known compounds are being replaced by others that can be even more harmful. Glass is safe and non-porous and that was the most important thing for us. It is a sturdy glass and didn’t break even after being dropped from a few feet multiple times onto LVP. I like that the bottle is contoured because it makes it easy to hold. The bottle has a good weight to it but it wasn’t too heavy for my 8 month old baby to hold herself. It stood up well to cleaning, warming and sterilizing. None of the volume markings looked like they were fading and it was easy to read how full it was in ounces and in milliliters. We also received the Avent Natural Response Nipples to test with the bottle and my baby did well with the combo even as a mostly breastfed baby. The collar of the bottle is a wide base so it can be used with other wide base nipples if needed, which increases the versatility of the product. Overall, we loved the Phillips Avent Glass Natural Baby Bottle and will continue to use it when our baby needs to be bottle fed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We thoroughly enjoyed testing the Philips Avent Glass Natural Baby Bottle, as part of the Stellar product testing panel! The glass bottle was made incredibly well, leading the bottle to be visibly durable. My baby was really able to grasp on to the bottle without any slipping. It also seemed to hold its warmer temperature better than your average plastic bottle. I was much more likely to use the bottle around the house, because traveling with them makes it a little more tricky. You just have to make sure they are secure inside a diaper bag so they are not at risk for breaking. Some mothers carry bottles in the front or side pockets depending on the insulated pockets, but I didn’t feel it would be a secure enough option for the glass. The first bottle I received did have a crack in it, because it wasn’t secure enough during transit. Other than that I thought it was a great bottle choice. It’s definitely a little heavier than plastic, however that goes hand and hand with the durability of the product! I would definitely reccomend it to a friend.

Leaky Mess

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love that this bottle is a glass option as we avoid plastic baby bottles. The markings are clear and easy to read and the glass is thick and durable. It doesn’t feel like that thin glass that shatters so easily. The first con for us is the cap cover as it can be pretty hard to snap or twist off. The grandparents who watches our baby during the day had a very difficult time getting it off. The biggest con is the leaking! So this didn’t happen every time but when it did it leaked so much and caused such a mess on everyone. If you’re a pumping mom then you know the pain you feel when even the slightest amount of breastmilk goes to waste! It seems to leak because the collar isn’t screwed on correctly but it can be hard to tell as it looks even and tight. Sometimes I’ll keep unscrewing it and screwing it back on and it’ll still leak and it can be so frustrating when you have a hangry baby. The nipple shape also wasn’t ideal for my breastfeeding baby. Our lactation consultant explained that the slope wasn’t gradual enough so it didn’t mimic the breast where the baby has to open wide. With the inconsistent leaking as the biggest issue I would not recommend this bottle as there are better glass bottles on the market. I received this bottle set from the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did receive this product as part of the Stellar product testing panel and was very excited to try it out! Love this glass option if you’re wanting to avoid plastics. I’ve used their plastic bottles in the past so loved that the their offering another option. I found the quality to be great and very easy to clean. My mostly breastfed 6 month old baby had no issues drinking from the nipple, the size and flow of the milk seemed intuitive which is what I want when not nursing. Gave 4 stars because it’s a little on the heavy side, naturally, being glass as opposed to its plastic counterpart. But overall very happy with it and will switch my plastic ones to the glass. I will be getting a silicone sleeve for the glass bottle to hopefully help avoid it breaking if/when dropped.

A New Favorite

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was skeptical about using a glass bottle with my child, let alone one that had a different nipple set than any bottle of ever used and that worked for my precious children. I was given the opportunity to test out the Phillips Advent 8oz Glass bottle, thanks to Stellar Product Testing Panel. When it arrived, I had no high hopes. My infant saw the bottle and immediately liked the feeling of the glass. She kept playing with it, but still hadn't tried actually drinking out of the bottle itself. After filling it up with some breast milk, I gave her the bottle and she began to drink. I struggled so much to bottle feed her; so much so, that I had to take a leave from work because she refused to bottle feed with anyone and hated every bottle we gave her. Now I've been able to leave her with my mom or sister and she takes the bottle, is less fussy, and has an easier time being away from me while I go to work. I went out and purchased a whole set. While the glass has scared me here and there, she seems to be doing just fine. It is easy to clean/wash, and it works well with my cups rinser. If you're on the same boat that I was in, look no further and just give this bottle a try.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product as a part of Stellar Product Testing Panel. I mainly breastfeed my 4 month old baby, we have tried multiple bottles and he doesn’t love them but when we tried the Philips Avent I was presently surprised how much he loved it. This bottle is so nice to hold, the glass is such a nice feature, and it has minimal leaking compared to other brands. It also is very easy to wash. This product has a very high quality look to it and I think it’s an excellent choice for a bottle feeding baby. I wish I would have found this bottle sooner because it’s a wonderful product.
