Ember love
Love the new edition Ember. I had a 1st generation one for a long time. It was great but not holding a charge very long. This definitely does and love the green! So happy Target had it on sale.

Buy it if you like to keep your coffee hot
Keeps my coffee warm. I hate that it takes time to charge and that I have to alway hand wash it, but I love how hot it keeps my coffee. I sometimes keep it on the charger when I’m working. I also charge it over night for the next day. It is lightweight and has a thin lip at the top. Two important features I look forward to in coffee cups.

Don't buy
It will say it’s empty when it’s full. It will say it’s a a warm temp when it’s cold. If you want it or warm at max temp, it lasts less than an hour. have had it 2 weeks and rarely has it worked as expected.

Keeps it hot
I bought this for my husband for Christmas and he loves it! It’s the only mug he wants to use for his morning coffee and he’s super bummed if he leaves it in an odd spot and forgets to wash and charge it. The charge has been good for our long morning’s worth of coffee drinking, it needs to be charged between uses/coffee sessions, but that’s not surprising when you consider how much energy output it takes to produce heat. It’s cool that you can adjust the heat and see how much charge it has using the app. It’s perfect for anyone who regularly finds their coffee getting cold before they get to drink it.

Expensive and app is awful
Android app has 1.4 stars because it consistently doesn't connect, this product is basically useless if you have an Android phone.

Great idea but has its limits
It is nice to get down to the bottom and still have warm coffee or tea. It’s not perfect. Sometimes it tells you the cup is empty, even though it’s not. You have to have the mug, charger, and phone in pretty close proximity or you risk it not working well. Unless you are sitting still, it is probably not going to keep it warm for you all morning.

The App is super easy to use and the mug keeps the liquid whatever temp you want. The battery life does live up to what it says, however, it doesnt feel like it lasts a long time.

I am reviewing unpacking and setting up the mug since I have been so far unable to actually use it. It is packaged so that after 2 people attempted to master the box I just gave up and ripped it up. The instructions are more complicated than my husband’s small plane. Requires an app and Bluetooth pairing which has not gone smoothly. It is also relatively heavy. I hope if I can get the Bluetooth pairing to work that I will find its use as appealing as it initially seemed to me.

Its going back...
I've had this for a day- I bought the 14oz, however, it's not 14oz, it's more like 10oz if it's filled to the brim. 8oz if you want to hold it without spilling. Not sure why it says 14oz, I measured it. Also, I charged it to 100%, used it once for a pretty normal amount of time- discharged to 54%. I charged it briefly, it showed 84% (didn't seem long enough to reach that), I used it again and within the hour it was at 5%. I like it- but not sure it's worth the $100 considering how inconsistent this is. It dies pretty fast. Hard to wash. It's actually only about 8oz. 14oz I would keep it, but since it's only 8ish, it's going back.

Never reached 100% charged. Battery drained within 40 minutes if not set on charging coaster. Took a long time to get the temperature of the beverage to the desired setting.

Honest review from someone who has owned way too many Ember mugs
Don’t get me started on how many Ember mugs I’ve gone through over the past few years…at least seven, not counting the two I just bought during Black Friday. So why do I keep buying them if they don’t last? Because when they work, they’re great. I’m constantly on the move and setting my coffee down and it’s nice knowing that when I pick it back up, it’s still warm. I will say, my very first Ember mug lasted a substantially long time, which is what made me such a fan in the first place. Unfortunately, the mugs that followed didn’t hold up the same way. I can’t help but suspect that increased mass production has played a role in the noticeable downgrade in overall performance and longevity. On top of that, ever since the app update about two years ago, the custom heating feature has been completely ruined. The mug no longer reaches a truly hot temperature or even the temperature shown in the app. If you put an actual thermometer in your coffee, it’s usually 5–7 degrees cooler than what the app displays. Lastly, Ember really needs to reconsider the design of the mug base. It’s nearly impossible to handwash the mug without getting the base wet, which is the only acceptable cleaning method. The charging base could also use a redesign to better protect the small connector that interfaces with the mug, as I’ve experienced ongoing issues with that component over the years. If you’re reading this, you’re planning to purchase one through Target anyway which is a very good thing because they will work with you on returns or exchanges if need be… do not go purchasing one from A***** I have had two horrible experiences. Target only! Additionally, beware that Ember’s customer service isn’t what it used to be. After the latest update, they use that as an excuse for everything, which likely is the problem, but it should be up to them to resolve the issues and they don’t. I do have the other comparable brand and while I think it has better performance, sadly, I don’t love the design/shape of it, it feels bulky and heavy in comparison. But…it does cost less and it does outperform. Honestly, after all of that, I can’t believe I’m still an Ember fan … :/

Item never arrived
Item delivery has been delayed for almost a week, yet they have more inventory at the same Target I ordered from, and three others in my local area.
