Uses

Uses helps prevent sunburn, if used as directed with other sun protection measures, (see Directions) decreases the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging caused by the sun

Directions

Sun Protection Measures. Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a Broad Spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including: limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. wear long- sleeved shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses, Directions shake well before use, hold container 4 to 6 inches from the skin to apply, spray liberally and spread evenly by hand 15 minutes before sun exposure, do not spray directly into face. Spray on hands then apply to face, do not apply in windy conditions, use in a well-ventilated area, reapply: after 40 minutes of swimming or sweating, immediately after towel drying, at least every 2 hours, children under 6 months of age: ask a doctor

  • A: Yes! That's why I bought it. The package instructions say do NOT spray directly on face, but if you're careful, it's fine. Just don't open your eyes right away, obviously. The number of Amazon reviews I read for this product that said it burned their eyes was crazy. It's a light mist that doesn't make me feel sticky or anything. It dries nicely. I have oily skin for reference. The smell is wonderful, like bananas. I like that.

Q: Why is this product called a "face mist" if it says do not apply directly to face - spray onto your hands and then rub on your face? That's just regular sunscreen but double the price.

  • A: That's true. I bought this face mist to use on top of makeup, so I spray directly on face but from a distance. It's very lightweight and smells nice. I like that it dries nicely on top of my make up. It is expensive, but I like the thin bottle so I can carry it easily when I leave the house day to day since I'm in the sun a lot after my 9-5 desk job.

Stings, cant spray directly onto face

Sounds good on paper. If you spray directly onto your face with your eyes closed the spray is so heavy that the sunscreen gets in your eyes quickly and burns. Also has a weird smell and taste on your lips. You could use by spraying on your hands and rubbbing onto face like lotion but that kind of defeats the purpose.

Heavy spray

They changed the bottle and the mist spray comes out much more powerful and uses way more product. I would no longer consider this a mist but a spray just like other spray cans. Super disappointing it changed! I love the very light mist from before.

Love this SO much. Don't love the banana scent but it's worth it.

This is AMAZING. It's not like a spray sunscreen that is greasy. It's light and easy. I saw some people using it on their body--it's for your FACE. It does sometimes burn my eyes a bit, but I let it dry with my eyes closed (a few seconds), and it stops immediately. All sunscreen burns my eyes, so it makes sense to me. Like every sunscreen I have tried, it does come off a bit when I sweat and dab my face, but it's nowhere near as much as others I have tried. I think it's impossible to keep a sunscreen on your face through sweating and have it not clog your pores. I have sensitive skin and burn easily, and this hasn't given me any issues. Even though it's not my face, I thoroughly spray it on the back of my neck and my collarbone as well. The ONLY thing I dislike is the smell. Sun Bum has two scents -- one is more coconut-like and the other is more banana forward. They used the more banana-forward scent for this one. I just dislike bananas and the smell...a lot. But, I'm still using it. It's so easy, it feels like I have nothing on. I have issues with application and follow through, so this is a lifesaver.
