A: If your regular detergent should not be used in an HE machine, then you should not have "For HE full loads, fill to bar 5" in the details for this product.
submitted byMidwest Mike - 5 years agoA: Jamie, we have two types of detergents, regular and HE. Our HE Detergent will have the HE logo on it. Otherwise it is the regular detergent. HE detergent is low sudsing and can be used in HE and traditional washers. Our regular detergent should not be used in an HE machine. I have been a Tide Original for as long as I can remember (40+ years). Sadly many stores no longer stock the Original "Non he" Tide. I found it at Target, and I'm so glad I did. It will be my "go to" store from now on for my Tide products (along for lots of other stuff). Keep in mind... I am only recomending the Original Tide non "he". I use a top loading washer.

The bottles look the same, but the new scent is just awful. It lingers everywhere, and it took an hour of wearing a shirt washed with it for my whole body to be covered in itchy hives. After a lifetime of Tide, I’ll be switching to a different brand. Shame on you, Tide.

I primarily use Tide liquid with Downey, but the store that I was purchasing it did not offer that option. I decided that I would purchase the original tide sent, it’s always been tried and true. Big mistake! To my surprise, the scent is so strong and not anything like the original scent. I don’t understand why the company would make such a drastic change. Very disappointing. Bad marketing decision Proctor and Gamble.

Up until recently, I was loyal and dedicated to Tide for all my laundry needs. I loved the original scent and how well it cleaned our clothes. I noticed the scent change instantly and it literally made me sick and gave me a headache. I have never ever smelled a laundry detergent so putrid, overpowering, chemical-like, artificial, and down right nauseating and revolting. I had to re wash all of our laundry twice to get the stench out that this new scent left in the clothes. It even lingers in the laundry room and is noticeable outside when the dryer is running and we’re in a decent proximity to the vent. I am so disappointed. I went back to the store immediately to try another scent and they ALL were the same way. I ended up leaving with a different brand altogether and will be switching permanently due to this. How unfortunate as I’ve only used tide for my entire adult life. Bottom line: Poor move by changing the scents of the products. You ruined a good thing. Bring back the original scents.

I had switched to more environmentally friendly brands for a while and am just coming back to Tide and was expecting the 'Original' scent to be the the actual original scent. It is very different than it was and is much stronger and more perfumed. I tend to use a very small amount of detergent per load so I figured it would be ok when diluted, but it really isn't and I am not sure who I am going to pawn this bottle off on.

My clothes smell like a cheap perfume factory now, even after washing the entire load for a second time with NO DETERGENT! The new scent is so overpowering, that I get headaches when I walk into my laundry area where my clothes are hanging to dry. I purchased 4 big jugs of this detergent, and now I have to return them to the store! I've been a loyal Tide customer for over 30 years! Wow!

I’m a 3rd generation Tide user. It’s my go to brand every time. My grandmother used it to remove oil stains from my grandpas work clothes. My mom used it. The fragrance hasn’t been good over the past few years though. It smells fruity. I grew up with the “clothesline fresh” scent. Sweet isn’t a clean smell to me. Please bring back OG Tide. I miss the smell of clean.
