my old rowenta ( dont know model) died recently :( all the water leaked out.) bought the rowenta steam force+. it works great!!.. large water tank, no drips, irons very well. as far as that goes, i would give it 5 stars. gave it 4 because i think it's a little heavy for an iron ( i still iron a lot) and the dial for the settings is hard to turn, and laugh not, it's sort of hidden, so i need to put on glasses to check that i put it in the right place. dont know how the steam force pro differs, but i didnt want to spend the xtra $ to find out.

Bought this iron to replace an old Rowenta iron. The placement of the spray and steam buttons are too easy to accidentally activate. Feels awkward. Never had this problem with my previous iron.

This iron does the ironing! It smooths out the fabric and applies a lot of steam, so ironing is faster and more effective. Yes, it weighs a bit more than cheaper irons but it takes less time to iron!

I love Rowenta. I started buying Rowenta irons about 20 years ago. I just bought my third one. They are reliable , durable and long lasting. I don't want any other iron.

Good iron

My husband has been the one using the iron. He is happy with the way the iron works. One thing that is a hassle, though, is the burst of steam button , on the underside of the handle. If it is moved in the slightest way it drips water onto whatever you are ironing. It really isn’t a convenient place to have it since you have to grab the handle towards the back, which is awkward.

Not able to clearly see iron setting, making it difficult to determine setting to fabric. The iron overall is heavy. I am disappointed in this iron purchase.

Rowenta StramForce+ Iron

I bought second time Rowenta steam ion. First one I dropped on the floor accidentally so I could not use the steam that was leaking. So I bought the SteamForce+ this time that I really like it. It’s little heavy but wrinkles go away fast and steam working very well.

This is the iron I wanted from Rowenta to replace my previous one that gave up the ghost when it tumbled of the ironing board and I had to grab the chord to save it from crashing to the floor. It has a separate steam control so you can use steam with several settings. The one I mistakenly bought previously paired steam with specific settings. The iron is heft and flattens wrinkles in the first pass. My only regret is that it lacks a "purge" button that clears the vents. There is a process for doing that, but it appears to be more complicated than it was on my previous iron.

Switch part installed upside down/ Bring back #9280

I have enjoyed Rowenta irons for years. While this #9440 iron works okay, it is not as good as my previous Rowenta, the Steamforce #9280.The Steamforce # 9440 issues:1) the part for the switch for steam/no steam was installed upside down by the manufacturer. 2) The handle grip on the #9440 is not a smooth surface like the handle on the #9280 so it is not very comfortable to hold when ironing.

Quilter from New England - 3 months ago

I am a quilter and I bought this iron to replace my previous two SteamForce irons, both of which I loved until they started leaking. I thought this iron would be it. But the ironing plate drags across the fabric and the button for steam under the handle is stiff and hard to use. And the larger top button is for spraying water, which I don't generally use. So I'm disappointed all around. I've always loved Rowenta irons and would buy my old blue SteamForce again, even though I've been through two of them in five years, both to severe leaking issues. But this iron is going back.

LOVE this iron! It puts out SO much steam with so many steam holes in the plate. I would have given it a 5 star rating except for the burst of steam button placement on the handle results in accidentally spraying at times.

I think the irons in the past which were made in Germany were much better. This iron I believe is made in China. The plate is no longer polished for a smooth glide. It has a satin type unpolished plate. Companies seem to find a way to keep their price low but make the product cheaper. Instead of making a good product and just raise the price. But all in all it is still a good iron

Over a nice iron without unnecessary electrical doodads/interfaces but with an annoying “guard”

Overall it’s a decent upgrade to the one mum used 20 years. It does feel cheaper, there is even a part that already seems loose next to the steam level lever. The “guard” around the base to make it less likely to tip is the only major complaint. It’s unnecessary and repeatedly catches when ironing.

I've now used this iron a few times after my recent purchase. The overall design seems good and it has good balance. The ergonomics of the on-demand steam and spray triggers are good and the soleplate allows the iron to glide well. One thing I'd like to have which I haven't located yet is an indicator of when the iron has reached the desired temperature setting. My old Rowenta had that clearly visible and I was surprised that this new model seemed to lack that feature.
