Do not use, highly inaccurate
These strips do not accurately reflect alcohol level in breastmilk. I compared it to the frida strips and the difference is outstanding!

DO NOT BUY
These test strips have never come up positive for me, but until yesterday I’ve only had 1 or 2 drinks and waited 3-4 hours, so I didn’t question it much. Yesterday I had 4 drinks, and after 7 hours, it did not change color. Which I guess is plausible but still had me questioning so I did not feed baby to breast. This morning I read other reviews and decided to test it in straight vodka to see if it would indicate a positive result - it was STILL negative, and the box has an expiration date of October 2026. Do NOT trust these test strips!

These didn’t work for me!! I bought this brand and the Frida brand. While these tested negative, the Frida brand would test positive. These false negatives are kind of scary considering you can be giving babies bad milk.

Do not purchase- unsafe!
These are unsafe & a waste of money. They do not work as all the other reviews state. I tested my breast milk at various timeframes after consuming a significant amount of alcohol that would be above their stated threshold & it still came out negative. I also tested the strips directly in alcohol/liquor & there still was no color change. These strips are dangerous & need to be recalled & removed before someone trusts them based on their claims & unknowingly gives their baby alcohol. You should be ashamed seeing all of these reviews & providing the responses that you are to mothers reporting they don't work. There is a clear lack of accountability & dishonesty. Ladies please research how long alcohol remains in breast milk & how long it takes to clear the system for additional guidance. The recommendation is to wait 2 hours per standard alcoholic beverage ( I'm assuming they mean 1oz of alcohol in it ). I usually double this to be on the safe side.

Need to wait 3 min.
So yes these do work overall. However you do need to wait longer than 2 minutes for it to show up. I wanted to confirm for myself that these worked. After two drinks over two hours I felt tipsy but the strip still didn't show anything. So I dipped a stick into a third drink (straight alcohol) to make sure it actually worked. It took three minutes dipped after being dipped into a straight alcoholic drink to actually read as high alcohol content. So yes they work but not in the time advertised. I'll still use them but but a 3-4 minute timer on to know that they are reading correctly.

False negative!
These used to work a couple years ago when I had my first child. I questioned them since they weren’t indicating at all then tested them against the Frida mom strips and confirmed my suspicions. They give a false negative!

THEY DONT WORK
THEY DONT WORK! I had my suspicions after drinking two glasses of wine and then testing an hour later and it showed negative, so the next time I drank, I tested within 10 minutes and it still showed negative 🙃 not cool….

Hi Katelyn, we apologize to hear that you've had a negative experience with Milkscreen. We understand your concerns and want to provide some additional information to help clarify how our product works. The time it takes for alcohol to be absorbed into the bloodstream and present in breastmilk varies depending on individual factors such as metabolism, body weight, and the amount of alcohol consumed. It will not show a presence of alcohol after 10 minutes of ingestion since alcohol requires time for absorption and, factors such as food and type and amount of alcohol, impact absorption rate. Further, published guidelines recommend waiting 2-3 hours after one standard drink is consumed before nursing. This is the estimated time at which the majority of the alcohol has cleared the system and this is also the time it is recommended to use Milkscreen as a confirmation. This may be why you didn't see a positive test on the strip at both 10 minutes and after 2 hours. A negative test can also mean that alcohol levels were present at such small insignificant. We recommend testing your breastmilk 2-3 hours after consuming alcohol which aligns with published guidelines on alcohol consumption and nursing. Please refer to the product instructions for more detailed information. If you continue to experience issues or have further questions, please don't hesitate to contact our customer support team. We're committed to providing you with the best possible experience.

DON'T BUY THESE
If I could do 0 stars I would! I used these for peace of mind with my first born when breastfeeding, they worked great then (that was 2 years ago). We just had our second and I wanted to use these the same just a peace of mind (not relying on them!). BUT I have noticed they never change, reading the strip 2 min and not after 5 min like the instructions state. I even went as far as putting a strip in straight tequila and it didn’t even change a minuscule amount. I don’t want ANYONE make the mistake of thinking these will give you peace of mind. They are very misleading!! What a waste of money and risk to your infant.

Dear Shell_18, Thank you for sharing your feedback about Milkscreen®. We appreciate your input as it helps us improve our products. It's important to understand that Milkscreen® is designed to detect alcohol that has been metabolized by the body and is present in breastmilk. If the strip is used directly with alcohol, it may not provide accurate results. To ensure accurate readings, it's crucial to follow the instructions carefully. Milkscreen® strips should be read exactly 2 minutes after saturating the test pad with breast milk. Any color change after 2 minutes is likely due to environmental factors and doesn't indicate the presence of alcohol. We hope this information clarifies how Milkscreen® works. Please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer support team if you have any other questions.

These don't work
No color change on milk that was pumped after a night of drinking. I'm convinced these don't work and can't be trusted.

Not accurate
These are not accurate. Tested 2 strips, one was negative and one was positive, same milk was tested at the same time. I knew I wasn’t feeding this to my baby, wanted to test the quality for my own peace of mind. If I only used the one strip…. I would have thought I was in the clear.

Poor Quality Assurance
One of my strip packages was completely empty… you’d think there would be better quality assurance with how much these cost.

Works
I felt very uneasy about trusting these strips so I tested a strip before drinking, and it was negative and the. about an hour after a drink and it was positive.. I then tested it after sober and hours later and it was negative. Seems legit.

So much peace of mind!
First strip is when I tested right after a few drinks and I decided to freeze for topical use. Second strip was from the next morning after the alcohol left my bloodstream and I fed to my baby. These really work and are so helpful for enjoying yourself while breastfeeding!

Hard to distinguish
The testing color is too close to the actual strip color so it's difficult to read the test

It works!
They work! I drank more than half a bottle of sangria within 3 hours. Checked when it was time to pump and sure enough it worked! *if after 2 minutes the pad changes color: it detected alcohol.

Don't not TRUST
Does not work, I tested 3 tests back to back. The first 2 tests never changed color, the 3rd test also didn’t change color after 2 minutes. I left the 3rd test on my table and checked it an hour later and saw that it had changed color to detect alcohol in my system. As others have mentioned I agree that these tests do not work. They should not be advertised to make us mothers believe they will work.

False Negatives
I was surprised this didn't show any coloration after having 2 glasses of wine over 2 hours, but let formula fed just incase because I felt more comfortable. for curiosities sake I dipped the test strip in a glass of wine and it still did not change color and give a positive result so either I got an old product or it gives false negatives.
