This cuddly plush pelican has an empty belly . . . and a big appetite for fun! Young children can open the pelican's big bill (which squeaks when squeezed!) to drop four mini plush animals into his open mouth. Then the crinkly shrimp, squeaking octopus, and rattling fish and crab drop right into the bird's big belly! A peek-in, reach-in window on the pelican's front lets kids spot them easily and pull them out to try it all again. Not as useful as thought

Toy purchased so our one year old twin grandsons could chew the toys and take them in and out of the pelican. When I opened the package and set up the pelican, it just collapsed. There is a stiffened piece of material in it for support, but it was bent and even after straightening it the pelican still was not open for easy access to toys.

Purchased for grandchild and friend's grandchild.

By far MY favorite toy! So, So, Glad I purchased for grandchild. This whimsical Hungry Pelican gobbles up what learning hands feed into the large scoop bill and can inquisitively retrieve from his belly. Smaller soft "food" is the perfect size to add and take away! Grows with child as the child turns from baby to toddler.

Terrific for small children.

Our youngest granddaughter is 1, but ahead of her age due to competing with her older sisters. She loves this toy and played with it for hours. The hungry pelican now has a 'happy belly' and she loves to cuddle this soft plush toy.

This is a big disappointment. Especially coming from Melissa and Doug. This pelican is cute in theory but is floppy and doesn’t sit up by itself. Therefore defeating the entire purchase. I will be returning.

Love this❣️

I bought this years ago when I worked as a parent advisor for children with vision and/or hearing concerns. The bright colors and textures attracted their interest. I must have lost the "pelican food" in a move. Are extra food items available? This is a great interaction toy WITH a child to learn cause and affect, social and communication skills!

A Fun, Safe Toy

I purchased this for Christmas for my grandchild who lives in another state. Since travel is restricted I have not been able to see her play with it. It looked like a fun and safe toy and the price was reasonable. Thanks

It's very cute but it does NOT sit up like the picture shows It must be hung in order for a child to use it. We ended up hanging it in the car for him to play with only drive somewhere. Very disappointed
