Q: can i use this for my 1 year old baby, he's 22 lbs .

submitted by ish - 7 years ago
  • A: Yes, however your 1 year old is safety is better rear facing until the age of Two graco has great convertible seats sold at Target.

    submitted byBoydoutx4 - 2 years ago
  • A: No, you cannot forward face until at least 2 years old. And it is recommended to continue to rear face for as long as possible. Look up your state laws.

submitted byJenn - 5 years ago
  • A: Absolutely not. 1. At 22lbs he does not meet the weight requirement for this seat. 2. Children should be rear facing to a minimum of 2 years old or the safest option is to wait to forward face them until they are at the upper height or weight limits of the rear facing seat.

submitted byDS - 21 days ago
  • A: Yes. You can forward face at a year. It is up to you.

submitted byKaren - 5 years ago
  • A: No...Children should remain rear facing until at least age 2, even if they meet the height/weight limits for forward facing. Our son is 3.5 and we’re only getting him this transition seat because his baby brother (almost 1 and 25 lbs) is read to use his current convertible car seat, but rear facing.

submitted byAMP - 7 years ago
  • A: No forward facing until four not two!! Please educate yourself on car seat safety. Many parents are not educated.

    submitted byMom2boys - 5 months ago
  • A: Just to add, I also will say no. Yes this does have a harness, but this is forward facing only. You shouldn't switched a child to forward facing until 2 years old.

submitted byGeno - 7 years ago
  • A: Thanks for reaching out! Our Tranzitions Booster is a forward facing only seat designed to accommodate your little one from 22-65 lbs and up to 49" using the Harness. While we do recommend keeping your child rear facing as long as possible, we would also recommend checking your state laws on rear facing requirements, as well as AAP and NHTSA recommendations, for car seat usage.

Q: I have a 1 year old son. He is 25lbs and 32 inches tall. Could he use this seat?

submitted by Stephanie - 6 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your interest in our products! The Tranzitions 3-in-1 Harness Booster seat can be used forward-facing only to help protect children, from toddler to youth. It can be used with the 5-point harness for children who are 22-65 lbs and 26.5- 49" tall, as a highback booster seat from 30-100 lbs and 38-57" tall, and as a backless booster seat from 40-100 lbs and 40-57" tall. Children are safer riding rear-facing and should ride rear-facing as long as possible, until they reach the maximum rear-facing height or weight rating for their car seat. Graco offers a line of car seats that help your child safely ride rear-facing longer. Be sure to check your local and state laws, as well as AAP and NHTSA recommendations, for car seat usage. We hope this helps!

  • A: Karen, Only 8 states allow you to front face before the child turns 2. That is not "most states."

submitted byJenn - 5 years ago
  • A: No, most states require/recommend that you keep your kid rear facing until at least 2 years old and this is only a forward facing seat.

submitted bymamarose - 6 years ago
  • A: Yes. Most states only require you to rear face until the child turns 1. After that, it is up to you.

submitted byKaren - 5 years ago

Q: Can this car seat be used for a 3 month old baby?

submitted by Alice23 - 7 years ago
  • A: NO. 3-month-olds need to be rear-facing. This seat is only forward-facing. There is no way you could properly harness an infant in this seat. This car-seat is good for preschool-aged children.

submitted byAJ - 7 years ago
  • A: i Don’t think so. The minimum weight limit is 22lbs, and it doesn’t look like it offers any support for a baby who hasn’t mastered how to hold their head/neck steady. You are looking for a 4-in-1 car seat.

submitted byj - 7 years ago
  • A: Of course not. This can’t be a serious question.

submitted byjweaver - 1 year ago
  • A: Thanks for reaching out! The Tranzitions Harnessed Booster is a forward facing only Booster seat that will accommodate a child in the 5-Point Harness Mode from 22-65 lb and 26.5-49 inches, Highback Booster Mode from 30-100 lb and 38-57 inches and Backless Booster Mode from 40-100 lb and 40-57 inches. We hope this helps!

Q: Is this carseat supposed to come with the cup holders? Mine didn’t come with those? If they were supposed to be included, How can i fix this issue?

submitted by Sena - 2 years ago
  • A: Its supposed to, but mine didn't come with cup holders either. I'm submitting a claim with Graco, because I don't have time to return it for another one.

submitted byErin - 2 years ago
  • A: It has them but it seems like it doesn’t. If you look at the cup holder spot, there is a black plastic insert that can be removed, turned 180 degrees, and reinserted. That creates the cup holder. Hope this helps!

submitted byWhat Wonder - 2 years ago
  • A: Thanks for reaching out! For our Tranzitions Car Seats, the cup holders are usually already in the slot they just need to be lifted up and twisted around. On page 23 in the user's manual you should be able to find a diagram of what that looks like to assist you. If they are not there after checking out the user's manual please reach out to our Consumer Care Team at 800-345-4109, M-F 9am-5pm EST, so we can assist you further! -The Graco Team

Q: Has the difficulty with installation of this seat been remedied? That seems to be a big problem and I want to buy but not if I am not going to be able to install or if it is going to move a lot once installed.

submitted by Kim - 5 years ago
  • A: Hi Kim, thanks for reaching out! Thank you for your interest in our products! Please check your vehicle owner’s manual as well as the car seat manual for installation instructions. If you need help installing your car seat, please reach out to a local certified Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) for assistance or contact us at 800-345-4109 Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00 EST and choose option 2 to speak with a CPST.

  • A: Installation SUCKS. It is so rocky, if you are doing a seatbelt installation (not latch) using the 5-point harness. My husband can get the latch system tight, but then we would need to move our 45 pound daughter to the seatbelt and not a 5-point harness, which is NOT what we wanted. We were hoping to move to a seatbelt closer to 65 pounds, as it's intended. SUCKS.

submitted byNicole - 5 years ago
  • A: I tried the hooks in a 2024 Toyota RAV4 and no matter how much weight I put on the car seat and tugged, I could not get it to tighten enough to feel secure. I was able to rock it and was not happy or comfortable with that situation. I then tried it in my 2017 Jeep wrangler with the hooks and was able to get it a little more tight and stable, but still not as tight as I get my other two Graco care seats (the 3 in 1).

Q: It says the seat pad is washable but what about the back of the seat? Is it all machine washable?

submitted by Namy - 8 years ago

Q: Does the seat recline?

submitted by Elle - 1 year ago
  • A: While the seat doesn't technically have recline positions, if your vehicle's seat reclines a bit, the back of the booster will tilt back with it a little. I do this to give my toddler just a little bit of tilt "recline" so she can nap comfortably.

    Expect better from Graco

There is no padding for the seat. Just a thin cover over hard plastic. I would never expect a child to sit in this for any length of time.

    Perfectly adequate

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It goes in the car very easily and it's relatively cheap for a car seat. However, it is very hard to clean. My daughter vomited in the car and cleaning this thing was a struggle. My other Graco (the 360) is a lot easier and allows me to pull the cloth parts off to wash, without removing straps. On this Graco, you have to remove the straps to get all the covers off.

This is the second one that I have bought, not because there was anything wrong with the other one, but because my family is growing and I needed another one. I am very pleased with this car seat, the ease of installing it and removing it if needed. Sturdy, safe car seat, in my opinion!

    Best convertible harness/booster

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have now purchased 4 of these for all 4 of my kids. The first one I bought is still in great condition, but we now have 2 in each of our family's cars. Easy to assemble and use daily, lightweight. Flexible. Great purchase, worth the money but is very reasonably priced!

Very nice car for a 4 year old

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are loving our new car seat. My daughter sits comfortably in it and actually falls asleep in it. Her last one she would never. It was easy to install and it’s easy to use. Lightweight and doesn’t take up a ton of space either. Plus we love the color!

Worst Booster Seat Experience – Not Safe

To anyone considering this booster seat: this is the worst booster seat I have ever used. It feels unsafe because it moves around, and the upper seat latch keeps getting stuck. Every time I need to unbuckle my daughter, I have to get out of the car to release it. My biggest concern is that if there were ever an emergency, my daughter might not be able to get out quickly. Unfortunately, I couldn’t return it or exchange it. This is definitely a manufacturing defect. I would not recommend this booster seat to anyone.

    Eh

The seat is very easy to install but the headrest rattles constantly. It makes driving anywhere almost unbearable. The harness straps get twisted very easily and it’s so difficult to fix. It’s slim and great for small cars but the little things become annoying after a few months.
1 reply from Graco Consumer Care team - 1 month ago
We appreciate you taking the time to leave a detailed review. While we’re glad the seat’s size and installation met your needs, we’re disappointed to hear the headrest noise and strap twisting affected your comfort on the road. That kind of distraction can make any drive stressful, and your experience matters to us. Thank you for highlighting these concerns—feedback like yours helps guide future updates and design improvements. We’re here if you need any support or tips that may help reduce the rattling or strap issues. -Graco Team

Love it configured with the seatbelt guides.

I bought this a month ago and used the full harness which was big enough and easy to use (unlike the previous seat I had). Over the weekend converted from the harness to the seatbelt. The belt is so easy to use. He climbs in and it takes me seconds to thread the shoulder strap thru the Graco. Phew.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good, lightweight seat and daughter loves the color! It was a bit tough to install tight enough with latches, so just be aware you might need a bit of muscle. Otherwise no complaints - this seat is actually a replacement of the exact same seat after a car accident so we definitely like it enough to repurchase!
