V-Tech 2 Parent Digital Audio Monitor with Ceiling Night Light - TM8212-2: Low Battery Indicator, 2-Way Talk, DECT 6.0

Took some getting used to, I don’t like that it turns on when you plug it in. I went to plug one in to charge and it was close enough to babies device that it caused feedback. Luckily it didn’t wake baby. The range was nice but it didn’t always pick up my child’s noises. I know someone else with one and theirs works very well.

We have had this baby monitor since our first child was born. That child is almost 6 now and we have used this monitor almost every single night for the last 6 years. We all had video monitor in our child’s room but since sounds were delayed (and I was a FTM) I was paranoid about the delay and we started using both video and these speakers simultaneously. We have been through about 3 sets of video monitors. Different brands and styles for that 1 child. We have only gone through 1 of these monitors and honestly will probably buy them again just to have. Could not recommend enough. Worth every penny!

My husband and I bought this monitor specifically for the claim of 1000ft radius as that not only covers our entire home but most of our property while camping. We havent been able to test it camping but I was able to make it inside my neighbors house and still be able to have clear connection. Also, the stars and moons are really cute and I personally love teh warm yellow color!

So far not happy with this purchase. Neither parent unit will fully charge. They both have been charging for over 18 hours. There is no way they should take that long to charge. All I can get is two battery bars on both of them.

The microphone pick up on the base is amazing. While sitting in our living room with her in the bassinet she began to cry. We are about 30 ft from the base that's in her bedroom and we could hear her crying on the monitor in front of us, giving us surround sound.

Charged for a whole day battery was only halfway charged used for a 20 min shower a quarter charge was depleted. Doesn’t seam functional if it only lasts an hour. Returned for a different one.

The sound quality is amazing. The battery life leaves you a little wanting, but other than that, this is a great product that I enjoy using. The nightlight feature isn't too bright or dull.

We liked there well enough, didn’t feel like we needed a video monitor and these worked well. However after 2.5 years they are breaking- the lights flash constantly, it’s developed a static that makes it hard to sleep, and one monitor just stopped picking up sound. I’m not ready to stop monitoring my toddlers and I think these should have lasted a lot longer.

This monitor itself works well, but disappointed in the two parent units. I have left them on the charger for over 24 hours and they still do not have a full charge and the battery runs dead very quickly. Serves it’s purpose for a short time, but I would not recommend these.

It worked great for about 3 weeks, then it started dropping connection or not connecting at all.

Battery life on the parent unit is absolutely terrible!! It basically has to live on the charger. I don’t like how if you have it powered off, but then plug it into the charger, it automatically powers on. If you happen to be close to the base unit when that happens you get loud screechy feedback.

This monitor is easy to set up. Also has very clear sound. For all the people who complain about the announcement that comes on when you first connect the receivers, you can turn that off in the settings. Like some other reviewers, I wish the bottoms of the receivers was flatter, as they tend to fall over.

Worked great at first, after a few months the battery life is awful. Would be fully charged at 11pm when I go to bed, and completely off by 5 am. It has died multiple times in the middle of the night on me and I wake up hoping my baby didn’t cry.

My husband and I wanted audio monitors without video. They have a good range. My husband and I will clip them on while we take the dog out, or if we're working outside. The battery life is not the best, but it's not an issue if you leave them plugged in. There is a LED light indicator on the walkies when sound is picked up, which is good if you're doing something where you can't hear the monitor very well. It's nice having the ability to use them as radios, although the base picks it up as well. The biggest cons are the initial start up message when the base is first plugged in or reconnected, and that the bottom of the receivers are small and rounded, so they can be difficult to place without them falling over.

I don’t have any complaints about this product. I like that I can carry it with me while I get things done around the house. I like that I can talk to my child if necessary. My child absolutely loves the moon and stars night light.

I'll start off by saying that this monitor has been great for us, mostly. I would still recommend that folks purchase this model, despite a few negatives. The unfortunate part about the negatives is that they're just mind-numbingly stupid. The cons are: -As others mentioned, the battery life on the two receivers isn't great. They usually last about 3-4 hours at most, I think. It's not bad, but you're going to want to put these in a part of your house that is more of a "home base" like the kitchen or a central area where you frequent. -The receivers' bases are tapered so that when you set them down, you have to do it carefully so that they don't just roll back and fall on their side or back. This is the biggest complaint I have, and like I said, it's really stupid. The footprint on the underside of the receivers is much smaller than the girth of the receivers, (almost like those really rounded phone handsets from the early 2000s) and they almost always roll back or on their side unless you take the time to set them down carefully. It would be nice if the base was the widest part - since, you know, they should stay stood up. Because of this, when they're plugged in, the plug can sometimes add some weight to the receiver and pull it/flip it unless it's snagged on something else. I know I'm being the most verbose about this but it's really just the most obvious design flaw. -One other kind of annoying thing is that anytime the whole set is powered on/plugged in (typically this happens when you're travelling because otherwise it's always on at home), a loud voice comes through all the receivers and the monitor, exclaiming "VTECH CARES ABOUT YOUR BABY'S SAFETY" and begins to instruct about initial setup. If you've reached your destination and you're setting this up in the room where your baby's already sleeping, sorry, but they're waking up. I get why this feature is included, but it's pretty obnoxious. Pros: -The two-way voice from the receivers is good and handy. Especially (I imagine) if your kid is older and can talk back to you through them. All receivers get the voice transmissions, as well as the monitor part itself. A nice option would have been a receiver-to-receiver-only toggle, so that parents could talk back and forth without waking your kid up. -The audio is compressed nicely on the receivers in such a way that white noise and most other ambient noise won't come through much, and even the smallest sound in the room will get picked up - so you can hear basically everything. -Others have complained about the volume on the receivers but I haven't really had an issue with that at all. If it's too quiet, there's also an LED indicator that lights up dynamically as noise is coming through, so you can really look and see if there's any commotion at-a-glance. Other thoughts: -The lights on the top are nice, just a good little bonus feature if it's something you're into -It would have been nice to have a little white noise button on the monitor but I guess I can understand not having that -This product works best if you and your significant other use radio call signals and refer to the monitor itself as the "baby unit" when you're talking to each other over the receivers. For example: "Come in mama bird, this is salty eagle calling from the dad unit, request to investigate activity in the proximity surrounding baby unit, over". If you don't use it like this, I'm not really sure why you're buying this in the first place. -The range on the receivers is pretty good but do not walk into the same room as the monitor with one of them, unless you want to hear some of the worst feedback of your life. This is common sense, but you won't believe how much common sense goes out the window when you're at the stage of parenthood where you're newly setting these things up.

I kept one monitor in baby’s room and one in living room. But whenever I have people over, I can’t hear anything. The volume is too low. I had to return it.

Only works when it’s plugged in. If you don’t like mobility when your baby is asleep and are always near an outlet, then this is a swell monitor for you.

We got this as a bandaid monitor when our motorola camera was missing a piece. Never bothered to put that one together because this works just fine. Only complaint is that the charge doesn’t last long but we keep in plugged in.

If I could give this item 0 stars I would. I bought this in November it is now April and it only works sometimes
