Stainless steel Vitamix
After using the original plastic container for 10 years, I decided to decrease the amount of microplastics I was consuming and purchased the stainless steel container. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

A good replacement for plastic
Trying to get away from plastics and so happy to see Vitamix offer a steel option. I like the size but the overall quality can be a little more sturdy. Having used Steel containers growing up, I like to have them be thicker and more rigid but this design is pretty thin and so although it works well, I am always worried that it will dent or get damaged. Considering this is Vitamix, I am sure it will be able to take all the beating but just the feel is not very premium due to this thin design.

It’s a nice upgrade from plastic. Much better.
Works great but I wish it had auto detect. Better performance.

Worth the investment
I use my Vitamix to make smoothies for my teenage son every day. After reading about the health impacts from microplastics, I decided to swap out the carafe for the stainless steel one. There was a bit of sticker shock, but there’s no denying the quality. The fresh new blades whip up smoothies in seconds. Since I also use my Vitamix to puree roasted veg soups in the winter, I’ll feel better about pouring hot liquids into this carafe as well.

Stainless Steel beats Plastc
Fits perfectly on my older model Vitamix base. Smaller than the old plastic pitcher, but still large enough for blending soups and my morning smoothies. Love the fact I'm not ingesting microplastics.

(no review title)
The base of the jar is too narrow and needs to be wider like the plastic jar you have. The wider base and bigger blade makes smoothies with a smoother texture. Would really prefer to have a glass jar rather than the current metal or plastic options. Hope to see a glass jar as an option in the near future.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We work to use the best materials available to produce a high quality blender that performs to customer expectations in a safe manner. At this time, we have not found a suitable glass container design to meet the strict safety and performance requirements Vitamix places on its products. We use Eastman Tritan material, which is BPA free as well as fully tested and deemed food safe by NSF, to make our containers.

Good jar
I wanted to give this 5 stars. The plastic 64oz jar crushes my dates even without soaking them overnight. This stainless steel jar does not crush the dates and leaves them in chunks at the bottom, which I don’t like. The same thing happens with unsoaked almonds. I wish they made the 64oz jar in stainless steel. Over time, my daily use of the plastic jar has made it so brittle that it started breaking. This is my third jar — I’ve already bought two before this one. I always buy the original jars, never generic.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We will certainly make the suggestion for a 64oz Stainless Steel Container.

Stainless Carafe
Love the stainless option, such a game changer. I would not have purchased a plastic carafe.

48 oz Stainless steel container
I am very satisfied with the stainless steel container. It works as well as the plastic container I used to have, but does not get stained or scratched, and I have the peace of mind that I am not contaminating hot foods with plastic.

Indispensable
I’ve had this SS container for two years and decided I should review it. Bottom line: I love it.. It’s indestructible and while a bit pricey was worth it to me (I think I got it on sale). I had tired of the way the plastic containers clouded up after a while, and I’m trying to move away from plastic in general. This stainless steel version is superb.

Ideal for making blended Hot Drinks!
This is such a great container and it feels so much safer to blend hot soup and Cacao and such in this stainless steel container. The lid works really well too! I am so grateful to have discovered I could purchase this blender jar separately to upgrade my set up!

Big improvement
Much better than plastic. Last week I used it for a hot soup with no worries of microplastics melting their way into my dinner deliciousness. OK, you can't see inside while blending, but it's super easy to take off the lid. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars is how sharp the edges are. They haven't cut me, but they could be smoother/rounded. Also, if things aren't mixing so well with your old blender bowl, it may not be the motor, as was my case. The new blender bowl clicked in the gears with no problem
