Unexpected but really good
I bought these because on sale and was sure they wouldn't be as good as Downey beads, but was so wrong. These are wonderful and though not intended they also work as like a light fabric softener. The fragrance is mild and the aroma keeps the closet fresh too, and because the scent is mild it does not intefere with my expensive colognes (e.g. Jo Malone, Thierry Mugler...).

I love adding scented beads to my wash, I normally use Downey scented beads, but I’ve tried these because they are arm & hammer. You can smell the scent on the items after a wash. My only issue is the canister I purchased was half full when I opened it, but when you pick up the canister, it’s heavy which would make you think it’s full.

If you love Downy or Gain, be prepared for a dollar store scent disappointment. It smells like something someone would try to mask the scent in a stinky trash can with. Overpowering in the worst way. Beads are small and plastic like. Dissolve differently than other brands, nothing good about them at all. You get what you pay for and I'd rather buy a few better branded products at a higher cost and get a target gift card and consider that my savings when they have the buy 3 sale. (A+H right, Gain left)
