Q: What parts that come in contact with water are plastic?

submitted by Jlau - 2 months ago
  • A: Based on common designs for the Cuisinart 14-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, several components that come into contact with water and hot coffee are made of plastic, though all are BPA-free. Q: What kind of filters do I need for this coffee maker ?

submitted by Lilia - 2 months ago
  • A: The Cuisinart 14-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker requires #4 size cone-shaped paper filters or a reusable #4 cone-style permanent filter. To ensure the best taste, it also uses Cuisinart charcoal water filters (model DCC-RWF-1), which should be replaced every 60 days or 60 uses.

Q: Can I brew coffee into a cup instead of the carafe?

submitted by Trocar2 - 2 months ago
  • A: Yes, you can brew directly into a cup with the Cuisinart 14 Cup Programmable Coffeemaker by using its "Brew Pause" feature. This allows you to remove the carafe for up to 20 seconds, letting you place a mug underneath to catch a single cup mid-brew. For the best results, use the 1-4 cup setting for a smaller brew. Please avoid placing your cup on the heating plate.

New coffee maker

Needed a new coffee maker, have been buying Cuisinart for years. I really wanted a 12 cup, but the 14 cup is the only one I could find in at local stores. Works great, coffee stays hot, and it has an auto shutoff which we love.

Home Run Coffee Brewing

Was questioning the thought of purchasing an older type coffee provider unit when it seems everyone else was into single serving dispensers. Did some thinking on whether the quality of the brew would be comparable, would the temperature be adequate, would it taste as good. Well, to say this unit is not the same in any way to the units we’ve previously owned is an accurate description. Cuisinart has upgraded and beat out other manufacturers in all capacities. Coffee is hot, it has great flavour, it brews quickly and it beats out the single serve competitors on cost per cup every time. We drink a few cups each morning and the economics of using this unit are hands down a home run. Highly recommended this unit.

Cusinart, it's Time to Step Up, now....

I received my new Cuisinart Coffee Maker in a timely manner, did the prep as instructed, filled it with water & plugged it in. When I came back into the kitchen, all the water had drained out of the tank, none went into the carafe. My long history with Cuisinart Coffee Maker's only seem to last less than a year. The burner usually starts getting tarnished and the Coffee brewing keeps getting longer and clogging up, even after very carefully measuring and doing my clean outs. I switched to a KitchenAid and hopefully my dollar goes further & can have an enjoyable cup of coffee now. Cuisinart it's time to step up!

Thank you for sharing your experience, and we’re glad to hear your return process was hassle‑free. We’re sorry to hear about the water flow issue and long‑term performance concerns; issues like this can sometimes be related to reservoir seating, mineral buildup, or internal flow restrictions despite proper cleaning. Thank you for your feedback, as it helps us identify opportunities for improvements in future models.

Almost the Perfect Coffeemaker

It has performed well so far. The only minor issue is that it is easy for coffee to leak out below the lid so be sure you are pouring the coffee into the cup more centered to avoid that leakage.

Good Coffee Maker

I love everything about except for the fact that when pouring the coffee dribbles down the side and spills on the counter.

14 cup programmable coffee maker

I bought this to replace my Cuisinart coffee/tea combo machine that gave me many good years of service. We no longer need the tea function, so this 14 cup machine was the perfect size for our countertop. One of the features that I truly love about this machine is the "Bold" brewing button. Since I grind and brew organic dark roast coffee, this "Bold" button is perfect for brewing the best dark roast without the bitter taste. Thank you for adding that feature which extracts the best of the coffee bean flavor.
