Frida Baby Rectal Battery Thermometer, Memory Holds Last 10 Readings

Completely inaccurate - several degrees too low! Don’t buy

I bought this for my first bay and every single time I have needed it, without fail, the battery is low or dead. I have replaced the battery about 5 times over the last 2 years and am fed up. I must have got a lemon.

Why the marketing strategy? I have used many of Frida products in the past, but they missed the bar here. I won't be buying any Frida products anymore.

I couldn’t possible have enough good things to say about this thermometer. It is an absolute blessing! I know just how far to insert it, and it gets an accurate reading very quickly. This is the only thermometer that is reliable and I use it 100% of the time.

I’d like for the case to snap closed. The point of the case is for ease of storage and keeping it sanity. The case just falls off. It’s one more piece of plastic I have to keep in order. I already have a whole baby to keep in order. Why this?? Otherwise, it’s easy to use and accurate.

Received as a gift. Recently used this thermometer for my 16 month old. I noticed she was warm and per the Frida rectal thermometer she had a temp of 101.5. An hour or so later I rechecked due to her demeanor and the thermometer read 102.3 and that is when things went south. A whole febrile seizure and 911 call later I discovered that the thermometer was off by 2 degrees. When EMS arrived the Frida was reading 102.5 and the EMS thermometer was 104.5. I purchased another thermometer and sure enough the Frida is a whole 2 degrees cooler than the other thermometer. Our horrible experience could have very well been avoided had the Frida thermometer been more accurate. Never again will I recommend this product.

This was given as a gift I requested from my baby registry thinking this was best brand out there. Rectal temp in infants is supposed to be the most accurate. I never get the same reading twice in a row when I use this and I have now needed to use this on multiple occasions for my son’s fevers. I’m pretty disappointed that this is not something I can rely on for an accurate temperature.

I am such a fan of other Frida products, but as a nurse and a mom, I can’t recommend this thermometer. The only reason I didn’t give it 1 star is because it functions wonderfully other than its main function: taking a temperature. I like that you can’t advance the probe too far into their bottom and that it reads quickly. However, the temperature is always 2-3°F too low. This can be very dangerous because you could take your baby into the ER for supposedly a hypothermic temperature, only for it to be normal. You would unnecessarily expose your baby to germs and potentially invasive measures to rule out some serious problems associated with a low temperature. On the other hand, you could miss when you need to take your baby in for a fever that is too high to reasonably treat at home. TLDR: This thermometer is sleek and user friendly but reports a temperature 2-3°F lower than the true temperature. I do not recommend it.

Love this thermometer! As a first-time parent I felt terrified hearing that rectal temperatures are the most accurate for newborns. The design of this makes taking my baby's temperature so easy, it's quick and the shape makes me more confident that I won't hurt her accidentally by stopping the thermometer at the right position.

Used the thermometer 3 times in a row and got wildly different temperatures, ranging from 95-98 degrees. I will be looking for a different product.

I have bought 3 batteries for 3 uses. Everytime I change the battery, I use it once and then it dies before the next use.

The metal top on this came off easily, thankfully it was after I had removed it from my kid, but won't use it again now seeing how easily it could get left behind

Very disappointed in this thermometer, I took my daughters temperature 3 times ( one after the other ) and got 3 different readings. This is unacceptable especially after seeing MULTIPLE reviews on other sites with parents asking about the accuracy of this thermometer.

I’ve tried to use this thermometer multiple times on different occasions, and have always had the same issue where temps would have a wide range of various degrees. One of these occasions was when my son was five weeks old and one temp said 100.9 in that one seconds later said 98.9. Especially in an infant that young the accuracy is so important.

I bought this thermometer in preparation for our first baby and thankfully have not needed to use it until now. Our 6 month old has RSV and we opened the package to take her temperature and the thermometer will not turn on. I am so disappointed that we could not rely on this product in a critical moment for our baby’s health

This thing is great but holy doodle it will NOT STAY ON CELSIUS. I’ve read the manual and I’m not an idiot. Very disappointing. Works so great otherwise.

The tip is flexible and just the right size so I don’t accidentally hurt my baby. The display is big and backlit so I can see the number even in the middle of the night. It really is parent-proof for scared moms and dads—this takes one less thing off our mind!

Every time I take a temperature (/the same exact way tens of seconds apart) I get a different number - as much as over one degree difference.

She was really squeemish and uneasy at first but of course she was who wouldn't be with someone putting something in your tush!? I thought I'd get alot worst of a reaction then I did once I actually got everything situated, she barely even moved! The thermometer provided a very very quick and accurate reading which is awesome because of course the sooner getting it out the better lol. I like that the thermometer is small and convenient for travel as well!
