A: Thank you for your question about our Mucinex® Fast-Max® Cold & Flu Day/Night liquid gels. Both the daytime and nighttime liquid gels contain Dextromethorphan which has been shown to produce drowsiness in some patients. The nighttime liquid gels also contain Doxylamine succinate and drowsiness has been documented as a potential side effect for this ingredient. People react to drugs in different ways, but at least some of the active ingredients in these products have been shown to produce drowsiness in some patients. For any additional questions, you may wish to consult with your health care provider.

A: You can take 2 liquid gels every 4 hours. Do not take more than a total of 12 liquid gels in a 24-hour period. Do not take the first dose of the Night Cold & Flu liquid gels sooner than 4 hours after the last dose of the Day Severe Cold liquid gels unless directed by a doctor.

The daytime ones definitely helped me feel better throughout the day, but the real winner is the nighttime capsule. You’ll be knocked out cold lol. I did wake up feeling groggy, however that is expected from these types of nighttime medications. 100% recommend.

There were 4 sets of nighttime tablets and 8 sets of daytime tablets. It's a great value. I was impressed as I only needed to use 2 sets of the daytime and 1 set of the nighttime and I felt better.

Within an hour, I could breathe easier, and my body aches started to ease up. It definitely helped get me through the day without feeling completely out of it. BUT the instructions on when to take it could be way clearer. It says “every 4 hours,” but doesn’t specify if you should take it with food, on an empty stomach, or right at the onset of symptoms. That little detail matters when you’re sick and just want to get it right. If you’re looking for strong, fast relief then this works. Just wish the directions were a little more user-friendly.

I find it very effective because a lot of times when my feeling is getting sick, the congestion is pretty bad. Mucinex always gives great relief for us and it helps that we don’t have to take the syrup version of it. I love it so much and it’ll be easier to have on hand now that we’re heading into six season.
