Description

Philips Avent Glass Natural bottle with the Natural Response nipple lets baby control the pace of the milk, like they do when breastfeeding. The nipples' unique opening and tip only releases milk when your baby actively drinks. When pausing to swallow and breathe no milk flows. Baby can drink, swallow, and breathe using their natural rhythm, just like they do when breastfeeding. Easily combine breast and bottle feeding with a wide breast-shaped nipple with a soft feel that mimics the shape and feel of a breast; plus baby controlling the flow of milk like they do when breastfeeding. The nipple has a no-drip design which helps prevent lost milk from the tip. An anti-colic valve integrated into the nipple is designed to reduce colic and discomfort by sending air away from your baby's tummy. The ergonomic shape makes it comfortable for parents to hold. Assembly is simple with only a few parts and the wide bottle neck makes filling and cleaning easy. This Natural Philips Avent bottle is made of premium quality borosilicate glass, a BPA free material. It is heat and thermal shock resistant, so it can be safely stored in the fridge, warmed and is easy to wash and sterilize. The Natural response nipples come in flow rates 1-5, to keep up with your baby's growth. We recommend using the Philips Avent Natural baby bottle with Philips Avent Natural bottle nipples. Includes: 1 4oz Glass Natural bottle with Natural Response nipple flow 2. SCY910/01

What to expect when introducing the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple:

-It's totally natural for your baby to take 2-3 tries to get milk flowing from a new bottle. Unlike traditional bottles the Natural bottle is designed to only release milk when your baby is actively drinking, like what happens when babies breastfeed.

-We have 5 different nipple flow rates for the Natural bottle. When looking for the right nipple flow rate, age is a guide, but your baby's approach to drinking and the feeding cues they will show will help determine when to move to a higher or lower nipple flow rate.

Packaging uses 100% plastic alternative, FSC-certified paper, with great potential to be widely circular for majority of product packaging.

Q: Hello, Is the glass bottle microwave-safe or not? Can I sterilize the Philips glass bottle in a microwave, in a microwave sterilizer? Thanks in advanced!

submitted by Ati - 2 years ago
  • A: Hello there! The Philips Avent Glass Natural Baby Bottle is made of premium-quality borosilicate glass, which is BPA-free and resistant to heat and thermal shock. This makes it safe for storing in the fridge, warm, and easy to wash and sterilize. Regarding microwave safety, while the bottle itself is microwave safe, it is generally not recommended to use a microwave to warm up baby’s food or drinks. Microwaves can create “hot spots” that might scald your baby and may also alter the quality of the food or drink. If you do use a microwave, make sure to remove the screw ring, AirFree vent, nipple, and cap before heating, and always stir the contents to ensure even heat distribution. Before first use, disassemble all parts, clean them, and then sterilize them by placing them in boiling water for 5 minutes or by using a Philips Avent sterilizer. This is to ensure hygiene.

Difficult for baby, not breast-like

I wanted glass bottles with a breast-like teat so that my baby could be breastfed and also take a bottle without too much confusion. The newborn nipple leaked a bit out the sides but my baby seemed to be able to take a feeding. Later down the line my baby started to be distraught when feeding with this bottle and we eventually stopped trying after experimenting with different flow levels, thinking he just preferred the breast. I ended up hearing a lactation consultant's negative review of this bottle saying it can be difficult for babies to get milk from, and that the teat shape actually creates a bad latch. When the breast is in a baby's mouth it is not this shape at all. We ended up trying Evenflo balance bottles which have a pyramid shaped teat and my baby took to the bottle again quickly without issue!

Worst bottles ever!

These Avent glass bottles are a nightmare. They leak EVERY time, no matter how carefully I close them. After warming, they pop open and spill milk all over my baby. Total waste of money and milk. I’d rather buy Evenflo or Gulicola bottles any day – at least they actually work!

My babies favorite bottle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My baby absolutely loves these bottles. They are perfect for her! I either breastfeed or bottle feed (it’s about 50/50 each day), and these are the only bottles she will take. It’s hard to get a partially breastfed baby to like any bottles at all- but these were seamless. When she was just a few weeks old, other bottles gave her horrible gas and reflux. Poor thing was miserable. These do not! They have a perfect flow and don’t make her gassy. What a lifesaver all the way around. I’m so grateful we found these. We also love that they’re glass and not harmful materials. Highly recommend! We received our bottle from the stellar product testing panel- we now own 10 of these bottles!

Baby and dishwasher love

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So grateful for Stellar Reviews sending me this baby bottle set, my life is so much better now that I can put bottles in the dishwasher. I love the glass bottle so much, I definitely need to get more. I'm an ER nurse so my 12 hour days mean a lot of washing at the end of the night and now at least I don't have to wash bottles. First time trying it and my 10 month old loves it. I thought it would take a few tries but my husband said he had zero issues when I was at work all weekend, and we played with it as a water bottle today and he was thrilled. I was afraid to use milk to test it out so I tried water, but it didn't spill at all! I always go with the slower flows (it comes with a 2) since I mostly breastfeed, which he did fine with, but he loved the size 4s with his water so I'll probably have to switch over for milk as well. He didn't have any issues with gagging or spitting up, it seemed to pace him very well. I showed him how to put his hands and he took to it immediately, he would stop and take breaks as needed. I love how easy the nipple is to clean with the bottle brush, I felt like I was able to get all of it without any difficulty thanks to the wide shape. I was nervous about the glass but despite baby chucking it multiple times, it held up perfectly. I'll probably look into silicone bottle covers for my own peace of mind, but I doubt they're even necessary. Overall I totally love this bottle and have already told my friends they need to try it!

Quality glass bottle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have five kids and this was my first time using a glass bottle. I didn’t expect to love it so much more than its plastic counterparts, but man alive was I wrong!! There are two main reason I liked it as much as I did. 1) The cleaning!!! It is SO easy to clean and sanitize glass. My plastic bottles always get foggy, even after being properly cleaned. This one I was able to clean and it stayed clean looking. Huge win for this busy mom of five. 2) Glass. It’s glass!! There are so many things to “avoid” now and I don’t want to invest the time into figuring out if my plastic bottles are quality, so it’s so simple that this bottle is simply glass. Love that!! Would definitely recommend this bottle, and it feels like it will last for my baby and beyond. I received this product as a part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

The best bottles

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Philips Avent Glass baby bottles are hands down the best baby bottles that I have used! I have received this product in exchange for my honest review from Stellar Product Testing Panel. These bottles are so amazing that I have now bought multiple sets. The glass design helps ensure that my baby is not drinking from plastic and gives me extra peace of mind that the material is safe. What I love most about these bottles is the small amount of pieces needed. It makes cleaning so much easier than any competing brands! There are no hard to clean spots so I know that there is no leftover milk residue hidden in them. I sterilize my bottles daily and they hold up wonderfully! Avent glass bottles are well made and high quality. The glass is thick, making it very durable. These bottles are worth every penny!

So much wasted milk!!!

Don’t you dare waste your money on these bottles unless you’re okay wasting a lot of breast milk and going through a lot of laundry. These bottle lids are SO faulty. They barely screw on so they leak and the milk pours out. My baby isn’t even 3 months old - the bottle rings shouldn’t be worn out, but this has happened since we opened the box. As a first time mom, I’m so disappointed. I thought these were good bottles and I wanted glass, but i will never purchase these again. I’ll find a new brand for my second baby.

Quality Easy to Clean Bottle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this bottle compliments of Stellar Product Panel in exchange for my honest opinion. This bottle feels super high quality when feeding my baby. I love that the glass makes it super easy to clean. It doesn’t retain any stains or smells like plastic usually does. Most importantly, my baby loves it and I feel confident feeding her from this bottle.

So safe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Right away I noticed the bottle looks and feels premium. The glass is thick, smooth, and has a solid weight to it. It’s a bit heavy, but not so heavy that it’s uncomfortable. I just wouldn’t use it at night time when you accidentally drift off. Wouldn’t want it hitting babies face. It handled heat really well. I warmed milk in a bottle warmer, sterilized it in boiling water, and ran it through the dishwasher; no cracks, cloudiness, or weird smells. I trust this bottle more than plastic ones when it comes to long term safety and repeated cleaning and I think that’s what’s most important here! What I loved most was the peace of mind. Glass feels safer and more hygienic to me, and the wide-neck design made it easy to clean. I received this for free from the stellar product testing panel in exchange for my honest review.

Sturdy glass bottle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product Through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This bottle looked and felt very sturdy. The wide design made it very easy to fill, clean, and also less of a chance to tip over. The curvature gave it an ergonomic feel for less chance of slipping out of your hand. The bottle held up well through multiple cleanings and sterilization cycles without the measurement marks fading. The nipple flow of 1, for my 1 month old, worked well and she took to it just fine despite breastfeeding and using a different brand of bottle. I’m really happy to find a glass bottle that I can be sure is not leaking plastics into the milk during heating! The only thing I found difficult, was popping the nipple cap off with just one hand. I had to use both hands to pop off the cap, which was inconvenient when holding baby or trying to quickly break apart bottles for cleaning. Overall a good bottle to use!

Great glass bottle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thank you Stellar Product steering Panel for sending me a Philips Avent Glass Natural Baby Bottle. I love the size of the small bottle and the material. I switched over from plastic bottles and will never go back, I feel much better feeding my baby with glass bottles. This bottle is easy to hold and easy to clean. My baby is three month and like this bottle. He normally is breastfed and unlatched with it at moments so I want to try another flow rate to see if it help. One bummer compared to other bottles is the opening is larger and does not crew on to my hand pump. Not a huge deal but it helpful to use less bottles.

Wide neck and easy to clean

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really liked this glass bottle. It has a simple design and is nice and wide. This made for easy cleaning and a good grip in my hands while feeding my son. The glass appears to be of good quality so hopefully will hold up to the occasional knocks and bumps that are bound to happen! The wide neck to the bottle meant that getting a bottle brush in and out was super easy and it fits nicely in my bottle sterilizer. With it being glass not plastic milk doesn’t get stuck to it and is easy to rinse off. I like how the milk seems to warm up pretty quickly in this bottle, but I am still able to touch and handle it without any issues. I did find that the nipple speed that this came with is a tad slow for my son who is just turned 4 months but it would have been ideal when he was younger. I have a pretty fast /powerful let down so he seems to prefer a faster pace nipple either a 3 or 4 would work best for him. Overall, I think I most like the fact this is a sturdy glass bottle with a wide neck. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bottle set.

Combo Feeder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recieved this product as part of a promotion from Stellar product testing panel. I have a premie baby that breast feeds and bottles feeds for fortification. We have struggled with finding a bottle that we dont struggle to feed him with. This nipple flow was not overwhelming with a good steady rate that didnt make him gag or choke. The nipple itself was ideal as not to long and similar to the breast so easy for him to take and not get confused between going back and forth from breast to bottle. I prefer glass bottles and this is a good quality where Im not afraid of it breaking easily. It is well made, shaped and easy to hold to feed the baby. Bonus is that it has a wide mouth so its easy to add formula without spilling. For cleaning the bottle Ive thrown this in the dishwasher and it shines and its just as easy to clean with a bottle brush.

The perfect baby bottle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Avent Glass Natural Baby Bottle is the only bottle we’ll be using from now on — it’s that good! I feel so much better using glass instead of plastic for my newborn, especially with how often bottles need to be heated and sterilized. We’ve used ours daily for a couple of weeks now, and it still looks brand new. The quality is excellent, it’s easy to clean, and I can tell it will hold up well even after months of use. My baby took to the nipple immediately, and we haven’t had any issues with gas or excess air — a huge plus! One tip: when taking these on the go, I recommend using a cushioned case to prevent accidental breakage. I wish there were more protective bottle sleeves made specifically for moms using glass bottles on the move! Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for giving us the chance to try this incredible product!

Solid Bottle Solid Choice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using Philips Avent glass bottles since 2014 and my overall opinion is favorable (new vs old versions pictured). There have been minor changes over the years - like adding vent holes to the lid - but continue to have a solid feel, good nipple shape, and are easy to assemble. I use the manual pump from the same line, and enjoy the convenience of being able to pump directly into a usable bottle and cap it off. I also know that they hold up well over a long period of time, since I still have all of my original bottles. I appreciate the more plain aesthetic with a neutral palette. They're also made in the USA, and are affordably priced. All wins for me! My most recent bottle came from Stellar Product Testing Panel - thank you Stellar!

Avent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Philips Avent Glass Natural Baby Bottle for free from Stellar Panel in exchange for my honest review, and I’m genuinely impressed! First, I love that it’s made of premium borosilicate glass—it feels sturdy, safe, and easy to clean. I always prefer glass over plastic for peace of mind, and this one didn’t disappoint. It holds up well to temperature changes and while being very safe for my baby. The Natural Response nipple is such a thoughtful feature—it allows baby to control the flow, mimicking breastfeeding. This made it easier for my baby to switch between breast and bottle without confusion. Plus, the wide nipple shape encourages a natural latch, which I really appreciated during our feeding journey.
