Holmes 37" Whisper Force Tower Oscillating Fan with Clean Breeze

I purchased 2 fans for 2 different rooms, one significantly smaller than the other. Even on the highest setting it does not cool. The airflow is terrible. It is quiet, but that means nothing when it doesn’t cool down the room. I will be returning.

This fan is not quiet, when placed on #2. Also, the flow of air is not very good.

I just moved o South Orange and I did not expect it to be that hot but it was I like the fans and enjoy the remote option (lazy) got one for myself and my son and it works great idc about the noise I don’t like when it is to quiet and I grew up in NYC lol this is okay for me it’s like a white noise but the fans work great ! I got an AC from wallet 8000btu ( for cheap ) it works great with it keeps the whole house cool ..

I bought this one for my daughters room, and the 40” for my sons room (because he has a taller bed). At first, i liked this one better because it was more basic and i liked that it had few options. It was a simple selection of fan speed, oscillating or not, and timer. However, after the first night, i HATE it. This fan was soooo loud! She never had it higher than a 2-3 fan speed and i could hear it all the way down the hall like a tornado. Returning it for the taller version my son has. It may have more confusing options that i don’t need but at least we’ll all sleep!

Single-handedly one of the worst purchases of my entire life. “Whisper Quiet”? Yeah right. It’s only quiet on setting 1 and at that level, it does legitimately nothing. You have to put it on setting 4 for it to actually blow cool air and at that point, it sounds like a freight train. And don’t even bother trying to use the oscillating feature, because it buzzes when it turns and sounds like it’s about to fall apart. the only good thing this fan has going for it is that it’s lightweight.

Heads up if you are buying this fan! There are two completely different versions sitting on the shelves under the exact same name and model number. Look at the bottom of the box for the copyright year before checking out because they perform radically differently. The 2024 Version (Black remote with 5 dark grey buttons): This version is an absolute powerhouse, the physical vent on the bottom is 3" lower than the newer 2025 version, this version is also very noisy and is way heavier than the 2025 version. The speeds jump exponentially—like going from 2, 4, 6 straight to 15, 20, 30. For example, speed 6 feels like a literal hurricane with massive torque, leaning it back with a wobble like it's about to go into hyperdrive. However, it comes with a louder motor hum and drone even on speed 1. My wife loves it because she sleeps with heavy white noise and wants maximum air blown from across the room. The 2025 Version (Black remote with 6 very light grey buttons): This is a newer, silent redesign. The speeds are progressive and balanced—more like 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20. It creates a smooth, aerodynamic wind sound without any annoying motor hum. The outer plastic ribs are narrower, and the entire column circumference is slightly smaller (17" vs 18.5"). I prefer this one because I like a quiet breeze for when I'm playing VR or gaming. Keep the box differences in mind depending on what you want! If you want a silent, gentle breeze, hunt for the 2025 box. If you want a loud wind tunnel, look for the 2024 box. Look for the year on the very bottom to the right of the barcode, next to the copyright logo ©. I'm giving it a 4-star rating ONLY becasue the company reintroduced a dramatically different version without updating it's model number or naming it something different like Version 2, or Mk.2... almost like they just wanted to clear out the older inventory (which may have gotten bad reviews) without making a big deal about renaming it. But it doesn't mean the 2024 or 2025 versions are "bad," it just means make sure you get what you're looking for before purchase. Or else someone could buy the 2025 version and say "best fan ever, quiet, silent and a subtle nice breeze, perfect for a quiet house." Then someone reads the review, buys the 2024 version, and thinks the reviewer is lying because that version is not quiet, and blows like a hurricane.

Unpacked it and it was missing the base and remote control in the box, now I have to drive all the way back up to Target to return it ugh.

I live in Arizona and I get hot while I sleep even when I have my ceiling fan on. I needed a little something extra and this does a great job! It made my room cooler and it isn’t too noisy. I just bought it yesterday and I slept just fine with it in my room. For $40 including a remote, I thought this was a great deal and I’m very happy with it.
