Q: Does the newer filters fit in my old pitcher? When I put the water in the top it runs right through to the bottom - it does not hesitate the way it did with the older filters. Is it filtering?

submitted by kate - 9 years ago
  • A: Yes it fits place the filter in a large drinking glass filled with water for about five minutes and you put it in the picture turn it slightly to the right or the left and I guarantee it will fit and work

submitted bybob sun city az - 9 years ago
  • A: The new filters are improved so they are much quicker at filtering the water, but yes they are filtering.

submitted byGuest - 9 years ago
  • A: If your dispenser or pitcher is an older model, and you see any space around the edge of the filter when it's fully "seated," then it may not be filtering correctly. I ended up buying a new dispenser because I didn't trust that the water was being filtered after the filters changed to their current design. I contacted the company and they were no help--just told me to line up the groove to the filter, but the entire filter was popping out of place (I'd see it floating minutes after I filled up), so I'd say the new filter design is no longer compatible with older dispensers. After getting a new dispenser, I can see a big difference in the way the filter creates a seal. I think the company should stop saying that the filters are compatible with all filters and dispensers.

Q: Will these seat properly -- wait for it -- in a Target "Up&Up" pitcher?

submitted by John - 8 years ago
  • A: Hi there, John. Our filters are designed to fit in all of our Brita pitchers, except the Stream. We hope this information is helpful. Jess from the Brita team

  • A: Yes. I have an Up & Up 7 cup pitcher that I purchased 3/2020. I just purchased the 4 pack of Brita filters today 5/2020, They fit better than the Up & Up in my opinion and are a lot easier to remove. You just push the filter firmly down into the hole and it's a very snug fit.

    Great product

I love my Britta pitcher, we always have fresh cold water in the fridge. I even use it for the kids animals, taste so much better than tap. And saves money by not having to purchase plastic bottles of water!

    All smashed by incompetent employees.

Your warehouse in Pa. is constantly smashing my orders. I've complained but NOTHING has been done. It continues. If you don't find out who is incompetent in that location, I will take my business elsewhere.

Tastes great and love the convenience!

The savings, convenience of not having to carry in heavy water bottles and also being better for the environment is why we initially started using these. But the taste and efficiency is why we keep buying them. We bought this 6 pack on sale so that was a bonus!

    Filter replacement

Usually, this is a great brand for filters, so I bought these over generic, however, after one week, one of my filters clogged and didn’t even drain.

    Lead removal information lacking

I live in Denver, CO in a building that has not had the pipes replaced for lead removal. The city of Denver has been sending me Brita filters for a couple of years now, as a solution to removing lead from the water. Now that I am checking to make sure that this filter works to remove lead, I am finding nothing. Does this mean the filter does nothing for lead removal? I am annoyed at the lack of available information. There is nothing about lead - yes or no, just radio silence. I will buy the elite filter myself, if I need to do this. Someone needs to explain this to the city of Denver though.

Thank you for contacting us, and we're sorry to hear that our Original Filters let you down. Our Original Filters are effective at reducing chlorine for taste and odor, as well as copper, cadmium, and mercury in tap water, but they don't remove lead. We recommend giving our Elite Filter a try. It reduces contaminants, including 99% of lead, chlorine (taste and odor), cadmium, mercury, Class I particulates, asbestos, and benzene. If you'd like to learn more, please call us at 800-242-7482 with #260212-000530. We're here to help.

The Brita Replacement Water Filters are excellent for maintaining clean, fresh-tasting water. They fit perfectly in my Brita pitcher and dispenser, making replacement quick and hassle-free. After installing, the water tastes noticeably smoother and cleaner, with reduced chlorine and impurities. These filters work exactly as expected and help encourage drinking more water at home. They are easy to install, and the lifespan is consistent with the instructions provided. I also appreciate that they help improve the overall quality of water used for cooking, coffee, and tea. Overall, the Brita Replacement Water Filters are reliable, effective, and convenient. They are a simple way to ensure consistently great-tasting water and are a must-have for anyone using Brita pitchers or dispensers. Filters out minerals from tap water, preventing build-up

I wasn't sure whether these would filter out the pretty heavy mineral content of my upstate NY water, but they work really well! I have way less mineral deposit in my tea kettle. After about 3 weeks I started to get a tiny bit of deposit, but I think it'll make it at least the recommended 2 months no problem. Your mileage may vary, since everybody's water situation is different. But this is definitely the heaviest mineral build-up I've encountered and I was very grateful it worked!
