Don't waste your money
This watch does not track nor does it send messages accurately. I paid for the subscription and when I try to send a text message, it says sending failed. I tried doing location and that gives me a no location try again later

It’s fine, not great
First, the app is terrible and not user friendly - using the text app would be a significant step up. Second, the watch could learn something from Apple - it’s not user friendly or simple to use. Last, I would expect Garmin location to be accurate but it’s about three houses off most of the time.

Pretty good- give it time
A few kinks with calling but was easy to set up and link to app. Finding my kids is easy but can’t hear anything on phone in neighborhood but can in public places. Much nicer than Bounce 1 and kids love it. Not phone ready but tweens who want some space but not too much.

Perfect for our family
Got this a gift for our preteen. It’s perfect! Just enough to keep in contact with a busy family life but does not add to screen time. Easy to use and set up. Wish we had gotten it sooner.

Unfortunately had many issues when trying to set up watch. After troubleshooting and researching for a while, seeing many reports or firmware issues and other customers having the same problem.

Perfect for kids before a smartphone
This is the perfect product if you are not ready to allow your kid to have a smart phone. My son is 11 and I don't think he is ready for a number of reasons. This bridges the gap to allow us to contact him anytime we need to or for him to contact us. The monthly cost is low and reasonable. Setting up a family network allows for us to stay competitive on steps daily as well as overall activity level. Its great for the whole family.

Great watch for young athletes
I am a Garmin user myself, so I wanted to be able to share that love with my young boys. Tracking steps and being able to give points for chores in the app has been very useful. I wish the battery life was a bit longer because getting my kids to take them off to charge the is challenging. There is an additional subscription required to be able to give access to make calls, but I find this feature really handy if dropping your kids off at a play date. The quality is just like the adult Garmin models!

It's so much better!
This is our 3rd Garmin kids watch. We had the small square one, then the bounce now this. It is such an upgrade in every way from the Bounce. Loving the voice calling! The GPS seems better too!

Quick communication and tracking
The watch easily switches to school mode and the chore features my 10 yo loves. We did have to call to learn how to update the software which resolved all issues.

Time lag between messages
I gave this to my daughter for Christmas and we have had nonstop problems with it. There is a significant lag time, if the messages come through at all.

Horrible LTE, horrible battery
I’ll start with the watch as a unit: it’s nice. It’s nice to look at, has good graphics. But, if you bought it for tracking your kid or communicating with your kid, it’s absolutely useless. I have tried to reach out to Garmin, and yes, the watch does have LTE service and it still won’t function. An absolute waste of money. Had I not given these to my kids for Christmas, I would have returned it so fast. Also, the battery: 100% when they leave the house for school at 745am, down to 4% while my kid is walking up The driveway from the bus. It’s a miracle if it makes it until he gets home. Absolutely horrendous. Each and every time I have tried to contact my child, it doesn’t work. Even when they have LTE coverage. Sometimes, when in the house on WiFi, it doesn’t even work. In terms of practical application, an absolute failure. I am so disappointed.

Great features, disappointing quality, overpriced
This was a Christmas gift for our son and he loves being able to track his runs and text his friend. However, only 2 weeks after he opened it, it has a couple of scratches despite not being worn daily and no aggressive/ hard use. I would have expected greater durability for watch that is targetd to children and costs as much as this one does.

Great but wish it could text outside of Garmin Jr
This watch is a great size, features are very helpful for parents. I only wish we weren't limited to 9 people being able to text via Garmin Jr. app. Either let more slots be available for texting or open it up outside of the Garmin Jr app for grandparents, etc who will struggle to add another app to their process.

Excellent for Kid Tracking
Bought this for my son after trying a gizmo watch and being highly dissatisfied with how long it took to lock on GPS. This locks on in seconds. And the little guy loves tracking his steps, sleep, and watching the moon phases. Also, battery lasts much longer than the advertised 2 days. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

My son loves it!
The multiple features (time, weather, messaging, activity tracking and chores) available on the Bounce 2 are excellent and easy to use for our 10 year old. He recommends this watch to the "whole world!" :-)

Upgraded from a Bounce
As our 9 year old gains independence, the upgrade to phone calls has been great. Would absolutely love for whitelist phone numbers - older neighbors and family members without smart phones would be able to engage if the watch had a phone number & their number could be whitelisted. The necessity of having a smart phone to contact/be contacted by the watch is the biggest drawback by far.

Battery leaves a lot to be desired.
Garmin has always had amazing battery quality. This product does not. This product maybe lasts a day and a half before needing a charge. Other than that it’s great.

Overall helpful to own
I purchased 2 of these a month ago for my kids. One is 7 and one is 9. We were going on a cruise and I wanted them to be able to call or text us from the kids area if they wanted to leave. We had a hard time figuring out how to connect them to the ship' WiFi. On your phone you have to go into the ships app and put a password in to connect. I couldn't get it to work from the Garmin app, it just kept telling me to keep the watch close. They tried sending me messages from the kids area and I never received them so something didn't work. The rest of the features of the watch are great. We love setting the daily chores list, tracking activity, steps, amd sleep. The calling and texting works fine the rest of the time. The only other issue I've been having, is one of the watches GPS is a bit finicky. It will often tell me in the middle of the night that my kid has left home, I check the location in the app, and it shows him like 2 miles away down the road. It freaked me out the first night, I ran in to check on him and he was sound asleep wearing his watch. While we were on the cruise it also showed him like a mile or more away from my other kids watch often. I've got a large boundary set up for our "home" so it wouldn't tell me he's arriving and leaving a hundred times because I'm aware of GPS being not so accurate. But not 2 miles off. That's not going to help me at all if there's an emergency and I've got to find him. It's like 6:15am right now where I am, and he's sleeping, and while I'm writing this review, I just got another alert telling me he left home.

If you're noticing issues with messages and location tracking, it could be due to LTE signal coverage, building materials, or Wi-Fi network accessibility. During your cruise, there's a chance that you may have been outside of the LTE coverage area, or the ship's Wi-Fi and building materials may have interfered with the signal. As for the location tracking issues while at home, this could also be due to the Wi-Fi and building materials in your home. NOT a distraction free / game free device like the original Bounce
The watch functions well. However, be aware! We had previously bought the original Bounce BECAUSE it did not have games that would be a distraction to my kid who has ADHD. Unfortunately, the Bounce 2 has games and my kid is constantly getting distracted by them. I'm VERY disappointed in this product decision. There's already lots of kid's smart watches that can call and text, but very few that are distraction free. I'm really disappointed that the Garmin Bounce 2 is not a distraction free option anymore.
