Over complicated
With every new upgrade the watches change and they don’t seem to become more intuitive. The new model has been more glitchy than the previous models and the settings a buried deeper in the options. My HR monitor has stopped working on occasion and I cannot find a way to set the alerts the same way. Still a rugged watch that holds up better than the competition.

Excellent 4-Star Watch Once You Get Past the Setup
I bought the Garmin Instinct 3 (50 mm, Solar) primarily to capture useful health data, and in that department, it has been absolutely fantastic. The Garmin Connect app on my phone is incredibly detailed and gives me exactly the daily insights I was looking for. The physical watch itself is excellent. The 50 mm display face is large, clear, and makes it very easy to see exactly what I need at a glance. On top of that, the battery life with the solar charging has been outstanding. My only real issue was the initial setup. The advertising makes it look like a breeze, but I found it to be pretty frustrating right out of the box. I ended up having to watch a YouTube video just to get through the initial setup process. Even after that, I needed some help from my daughter to fully understand the menus and figure out how to get the most out of what I wanted the watch to do. It’s been a couple of weeks now, and I'm really starting to get used to it. I rely heavily on the Connect app on my phone to check my daily stats, which works flawlessly. It's a solid 4-star watch—highly functional once you get past the initial hurdle of setting it up!

Dissatisfied
Definitely dissatisfied. I got my watch June 10, It worked really well through training and most activities but I recently did a 24 hour endurance run and after around mile 70 it continued to lose GPS tracking and would randomly turned off and back on, despite the battery percentage was still at 70. Definitely was a big-time inconvenience in a serious race that meant a lot to me. It was a big-time let down because the watch have been working so well.

Doesn’t synch golf courses.
One of the reasons I purchased this watch was to use while golfing. I was able to download a golf course and it worked as expected. When I attempted to download another golf course, it would not synch. I attempted several times with no success. I deleted my phone apps, defaulted the watch with no success. I now have an expensive oversized wristwatch with marginal value.

Miles ahead of the Solar 2
Battery life is miles ahead of the 2 Solar. The solar on the 2 left you wondering if it did anything at all. I’ve had this watch for a month now, logged multiple GPS activities and am still at 45% battery having never charged it. Around 3-4 hours in the sun and you gain that days worth of battery easy. The upgraded features are great. After purchasing the 3 and watching “should I upgrade” videos on line I was wondering if I made a mistake. Not at all. If you want more run features and far more battery life but still like the instinct platform, the 3 is well worth the upgrade. Could not be happier

Garmin Instinct Solar 3: Absolute & Affordable.
I've only had the Instinct 3 Solar for about 3 weeks now, and during this short duration if time the specefic Instinct 3 Solar watch I own has given me lots of impactful and informative logistical data from my daily activities. This data has helped me better control my stress, sleep, mood and allowed me to focus on other informative motivations in my lifestyle choices. The litteral physical functionality of the watch is great, the 50mm is a bit larger than I expected and after wearing it for some time and every night to bed, it proves to be a bit uncomfortable. Besides that, the display is great. Solar charging seemingly keeps the battery alive for a much longer time than I thought. The modern features and ease of use help me stay less distracted on the road and many of the geolocating/navigation instruments are very insightful. Surprisingly, I have had successful use from the flashlight, and it's very bright for what it is. Navigation is what you get the most from this watch, and I haven't had the time to fully appreciate or explore this watch but I have no doubt that if you work outside, drive long distances, explore the wild or just garden, you will appreciate the convenience of owning a watch; if you prefer a compact, durable, long lasting battery and accuracy this watch is perfect at its price point. Given that this is the Solar watch, that functionality is stellar and has worked really well for me so far. It has lasted at least 18 days on one charge from the factory with all of the instruments enabled. Have to get lots of sunlight to charge, so set it on your windowsill or take charge and go explore a bit.

Great Watch and Features!
I was hesitant about buying the watch, then I took the plunge and got it. I’ve only had it couple of weeks and I was very impressed! It is more accurate than my last watch I had. I like the solar feature that continues to charge the watch every day. I should have purchased this a lot sooner!

Less charges, more wearing.
Got my watch a couple weeks ago. I charged it one time. I’ve been out in the sun a couple times. Right now the watch battery says 61%. I would’ve had to charge my old watch at least three times by now. Not a lot of color in the watch mostly black-and-white. But if the battery lasts a long time. So far, so good!

Great to be back on the Garmin team
I received this as a birthday present a few weeks ago. I thought the 50mm dial would be too big, but very happy with the size. I haven't had a working Garmin for several years so it takes a while to reacquaint yourself with the many features of the Instinct 3 Solar. So far no issues programing the device and it sync's well with the app. The default screen set up come with the fields I wanted to see regularly. I look forward to exploring the many customizations possible on the device.

Garbage
I bought the watch. It connected with no problems. Two weeks ago it disconnected and I haven’t been able to connect it again. I spoke with somebody last week and was disconnected

Instinct
Recently purchase the Instinct. However, I found that it was just a little too complex for this old man. Great features, but the display was a little cluttered. Love my Garmin products, I have several, and i'll have newer ones as prices become more competitive. Great support from Garmin at all times, a big plus.

Amazing Watch And Tracker
I love this watch. I originally had the 45mm and switched to a Pixel Watch 4; bad choice. Garmin's tracking and integration is so much better and cleaner. Switched back to the 50mm (Worth the size bump for the battery bump alone).

A lot of features. Too many for my needs
Bought a few weeks ago. Still in learning. Looked up videos to access some of the functions. Most confusing are the symbols used. Would be nice to have a chart provided with the watch listing the meanings of all the icons. Still trying to figure out how to get blood pressure reading. Is another device required? Best part is i don't have to remove the watch to charge it all the time. The quick start guide may as well have been in Greek. Couldn't figure out what was being referenced. Would be good to have a specific video site to provide specific instructions for each function along with initial setup. The videos were very helpful.

Its an okay solar watch
I tries about 3 weeks, thinking solar would keep the battery going for ever but it was not the case, you truly have to be outside in direct sunlight for multiple hours.

Excellent watch!
Very pleased with this watch (about one month in use), one of the best Garmin’s I’ve had. I use primarily for running (road, trail and treadmill), indoor rowing and for its heart rate and other features. Customization is excellent, battery life with solar charging has exceeded expectations and distance/mileage numbers are very accurate. Would highly recommend.
