Q: can i use this for grater too?

A: yes. There is a separate shredding disk that works super fast and does a great job. If you turn the disk over, you can use it for slicing but in my experience it doesn't do a uniform job. This machine is fantastic for the price.

Q: Would this be able to make peanut/almond butters? Is it strong enough/would the motor burn out?

A: Thank you for your question. Nut butters can be made successfully in food processors. However, the thick mixtures can challenge the motors of small food processors. For food processors of this size and motor type, we would recommend using roasted nuts verses raw nuts. Roasting draws moisture out of the nuts so the dryer nuts slice quicker. This allows the oils to be extracted and blended into a nut butter faster with less stress on the motor. Quantity of nuts will also affect the amount of processing time. We recommend processing no more than 3 cups of nuts at a time. If making nut butters is a primary task that you would like to use a food processor for, consider selecting a food processor with a more robust motor that can handle the tougher jobs.

A: Never tried it, but you would need to do trial and error. Maybe start with ice cubes and see what you get. Then dial it down for freeze pops.

Very good for smoothie bowls!! I didn’t wanna spend so much on Vitamix so I got this, and it makes them just as thick! The reason why there’s only 4 stars tho is because every time I close with the lid it gives me a hard time when I try to open it. Other than that, everything else is perf!

It's only a few weeks old and I bought it to quickly slice carrots I use for my dog's treats. I was hoping for quick and easy, uniform, round slices... but sadly with the Slice Blade I get an array from see-through thin slices to a normal thickness, to shavings, to long vertical slices and a bunch of little bitty shreds, slivers and shavings. I load the chute with several carrots alternating the thick and thin ends, but not too tight so it still feeds easily without undo pressure on the blade. It's not what I was hoping for but luckily my dog isn't quite as fussed about it as I. Perhaps if the chute opening were closer to the blade there would be less randomness and more uniformity? Clearly I'm not an appliance engineer! I'm anxious to use it for options other than slicing carrots but have yet to try any at this point in time. I do like that it is a quick clean up and all the parts go in the top rack of the dishwasher. However, storage is definitely an issue. Even putting it at it's shortest, most compact version, I have yet to find a cabinet with a shelf tall enough to store this out of sight. This is particularly problematic as I'm SOOO not a fan of appliances sitting out on the counter tops as "decorator items". It might have to go upstairs in a closet or else I'll have to do a mega rearrangement of things... perhaps in my liquor cabinet or under the sink (but these seem like weird and random places for appliance storage options, yet they do have adequate height). Not thrilled about that but I'm sure I'll eventually find a workable solution. Bottom line... it does cut my carrots quickly and that was the main goal. However, the slices mixed with tons and tons of random bits is quite annoying and takes forever to pick out the actual slices. If I take the time to try and separate all the bits from the actual slices, it's way more time consuming than slicing with my mandolin or by hand with a knife. I'm hoping I'll use it enough in other ways that it makes up for being an inadequate carrot slicer.

So far this food processor has met my expectations. I've used it to make refried beans, hummus, lara bars, etc, and it has held up to even the thickest of foods. It is the perfect size too and even fits in my cupboard nicely.

Great blender for the price. It's very powerful. Maybe more powerful than it needs to be or maybe it should have a 3rd speed button that is SLOWER than both of the existing 2 because it can really go to town when chopping vegetables and fruit. So it can very quickly puree or emulsify your stuff if you let it run longer than a couple seconds continuously. It does have a pulse button that you can throttle a little to try to adjust for this. Great for JUICING. I think I am doubling my fruit and vegetable intake with this easily with a smoothy I'm making every morning now with a banana, an apple, raisins or grapes, a little bit of carrot, a handful of spinach, and about a 1/4 cup of vanilla almond milk. Makes 1 cup. Very nutritious. Easy to make. Easy to drink.
